Arlo wifi security camera - or others?

Looking for an easy to setup home security camera system.

Came across the Netgear Arlo.

Wireless, battery powered (don't need wall power), motion detection, scheduling, on demand live streaming, iOS support, 1280x720, weatherproof, 7 days cloud storage plan free for up to 5 cameras, 30 days for $10/mo, sends alerts. No audio. Supposedly 300 feet range to base station but reviews suggest more like 150 ft if obstacles in the way. Works on four CR123 lithium batteries. Standard mount is magnetic, screw mounts available.

Reviews says it works well. Battery life is a question, reviews suggest people get at least a few months (spec is 4-6 mo) from the standard lithium batteries, and you can use rechargeable batteries. Battery life seems to depend on how much live streaming you use and how sensitive the motion detection is. Unclear if battery life is shorter in cold weather, apparently the battery gauge will read low in cold temps but that may be erroneous. Unclear if the free plan includes scheduling.

This looks interesting to me. I don't have much use for live stream, would probably set to alert and record when motion is detected and then leave then alone.

What do you think?. Anyone using these? What is better out there?. So many companies have come out with wifi cameras, i can't keep them straight and have not found a good comparison review.
