Yes. Keep us posted. I have an old FZ1 I really like & most likely don't intend to give up. An FZ-09 would probably be the only possibility. However, I have to admit at 73 I occasionally wonder if I might have to consider giving up riding some day. Let us know what things about the bike compare favorably or unfavorably with other bikes you're familiar with.

Will do Marv. I've owned quite a few. I can honestly say that after 140 miles since I picked it up last night...It's a boner machine! Can't wait to log some time in the twisties.

I haven't warmed up to the mufflers on late model bikes but I suppose I'll get used to them in a few years.
What do they call that color Eric? Looks good. Jim

Kurt. Funny thing is I don't feel like I'm loosing any judgement, feel, or reflexes. But I know I'm not as sharp as I used to be, so I don't take any curves where the outside sole of my boot touches on the pavement anymore. I've made a conscious decision to slow down & enjoy smelling the roses more in the past couple of years. My bike most likely doesn't compare to newer ones, but I still get a charge out of it, especially when it comes on cam around 7K rpm's. I still might be interested in a new Fz-09 sometime though.

So that FZ is a triple? How does it stack up to the original Triumph bikes? I had an older Speed Triple and loved the motor.

Awesome!!!
For me, Speed Triple is the only choice in that market, but the Yamaha absolutely great as well!

OK, I'll compile some impressions of the FZ since I've gotten 350 miles on her.
This bike has 3 selectable riding modes, A, B, and standard. I rode around in the default standard mode for the first 200 miles or so. Switched it to B mode which limits the power a bit. B is good for really wet weather if you don't have wrist control and a brain. The bike was very rideable in standard mode. I think yamaha did a pretty good job with the fuel mapping on the 15-16 models. I then switched over to A mode, which, apparently gives you all the power. I think most of the on-off throttle surge has been taken care of with the new mapping. I say most, it seems to have a slight jitteryness when your just trying to hold it steady, behind slow moving cars, on Washougal River Rd!!! Suspension, meh, it's an inexpensive bike at $8k. Seems a bit harsh on quick bumps and the front dives a lot. Springs, valves and a rear shock are on the upgrade list but probably not necessary. It's certainly rideable as is. The engine, oh my. What sweet music it makes. It's probably my all time favorite. I've owned a parallel twin, v-twin RC51, lots of in line 4s, etc. This bike hits hard and builds up speed pretty quick. I believe it's about 115hp and 65 ft lbs. at 415lbs. It's a wheelie monster, 2nd, 3rd, just get the r's about 4k or so and Crack it. Instant unicycle! I loved my RC51, the v-twin torque was wonderful. However, I think I like this bike even more. The combination of sporty handling, excellent power plant and upright, relaxed riding position make for a fun canyon carver. I'll try and write a bit more after some more seat time.

Bike of the year last year I believe. I know a few people who ride them, they love the low end wheelie torque.

Be careful! You'll poke your eye out with that.

Thanks for the write-up Eric. I'll forward to a friend that is gonna buy one.......That's a lot of bike for the money. Upgrading suspension sounds like a good idea.....I've always like Race Tech myself...
