You know you're among exotics when the Ferrari is ignored

Attended a fund raiser for a camp for kids with cancer. Gave rides in the white car. With Lamborghinis and a McClaren, this is the only picture I have of the Ferrari. Look close. It's the yellow one.

...and a good time was had by all.

The smiles on kid's faces as they got to go triple-digit speeds on the race track was priceless. Definitely worth a bit of tire and brake wear.

This is Connor. A real race fan. I've seen him at the track a few times, always attends the morning driver's meeting. Loves to shout out the answers when going over the flags. They let him "work" at start-finish. The turn workers made him Honorary Starter this year, and gave him this this autographed flag.

One kid who rode with me has had so many surgeries he looks like he got in a fight with a chainsaw.

Another passenger- A girl who has lost her sight to cancer. Though now blind, she loves to feel acceleration, braking, and turning hard. A Lambo screaming down the main straight at 8000rpm is another sensation she loves. Her mother told me she wants to jump out of an airplane on her 16th birthday!
I hope she gets that chance.

For some of these kids, it is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Three that attended last year are no longer with us.

What a great thing to do.

The thing is that they don't really care that much about what car it is they're riding in. It's wonderful to see them enjoying themselves.

I've often thought about how I could make my car hobby useful for a charity in some way. Teaching kids to do basic repairs, fixing up and donating cars, etc. Never really found a good way....open to ideas....

Sorry to derail, but I volunteer as a mentor for an organization similar to Big Brothers, Big Sisters. I'd love to find a skilled tradesman to volunteer to show group of kids a trade that could lead them to a career.

Might be an easy way to start or find an organization.

or you're in the parking lot at my son's high school.

He told me some kid drove an Aventador to school today. That got a little attention.
