PP'd until 9:00 Sunday morning... Wonder if thing will improve any?

mattdavis11 10-24-2015 05:34 PM

It just stopped raining at the house, here shortly, the track should be in the clear for the rest of the weekend.

Elroy, Tx. The weather did not move out as predicted. Lots G,L,N are closed, catch the shuttle from downtown at 4th and Trinity if you have parking passes for those lots. Saturday tickets are good for Sunday.

This is shaping up to be the best F1 race ever. Not even Bernie is going to know who will win before the race starts.

javadog 10-25-2015 04:25 AM

Any idea if the qualifying session will be broadcast?

JR

mattdavis11 10-25-2015 04:53 AM

Probably not. The wine and cheese crowd won't pony up the coin necessary to beat down the rednecks at Talladega.

javadog 10-25-2015 05:32 AM

It may be shown at 9:00 CST on CNBC.

Still very wet. Must run on full wets currently.

javadog 10-25-2015 07:39 AM

Well, at least they had the balls to preempt a bunch of Sunday morning infomercials.

I think the weather will be mostly over by race time and we'll see drying conditions with a chance of an occasional brief shower. Should be an interesting race.

It's a shame the two biggest weekends at COTA this year have been blown out by ridiculously bad weather.

Yep, big surprises. Merc 1 and 2 on the grid. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a Merc win.

Watching the race now, but on a Spanish station. These commentators are terrible. They've got as much enthusiasm going as if they were covering C-Span.

Rosberg lacks any sort of killer instinct.

Ferrari must be thrilled to be racing for 8th place.

How long are these safety car periods? Are the corner workers unionized or something?

mattdavis11 10-25-2015 12:35 PM

I've seen more passing and crashing in the past 15 laps than I have ever seen in F1 history. This is awesome!

tevake 10-25-2015 01:31 PM

What a barn burner of a race, good fun to watch.
Except for all the badly timed adds. Why air adds in the last ten laps, right after a safety car period that was filled with adds.

I was so glad to see that a major network had decided ot air F 1 .
I thought this may help build an audience here in the US.
But splitting the weekends between different channels. Making it hard to see both.
Twice this year I saw the practice and or Quali. Only to miss the race because it was on another channel.
Interupting the action at crucial times in the race. It's been frustrating even for a long time fan.

Don't think that this kind of coverage , coupled with many parade races will win many new fans.

But this was an exciting race.

Don't know if Rossburg was mad at his teammate for barging him at the first turn, or at himself for loosing it for himself at the end of the race. Not a happy camper.

One of the best races of the year for me!

Cheers Richard

Rosberg was quite the dick on the podium.

Did you see Hamilton pitch a hat his way in the recovery room? I was surprised he didn't get up and whip Hamilton's arse.

Rosberg was hosed, the team sponsor cut his car off to secure the championship for Hamilton.

I am really, really glad that I can watch the BBC feed here for most of the races. Those commentators were idiots.

The race? Superb!

Ian

Seemed like a dick move to me. If Nico saw him and knew he was tossing the hat at him it would be different.

mattdavis11 10-25-2015 02:22 PM

I agree. It also didn't sound as if Hobbs was even remotely deep into his cups today.
