Installed the lock a week with the wireless connect. It is a good product with great support. I think they skimped on the connect module because it hasn't been 100%. But the bluetooth works perfectly and far enough away, but close enough, so there's no delay. I'm not waiting at the door for it to lock or unlock as I read in so many complaints on Amazon. Definitely recommend it.

I haven't played with any of the features yet, someday.

Shaun,

With that module, can you put it on any deadbolt, or does it come with one?

Shaun @ Tru6 11-21-2015 03:43 PM

Hey Rutager, it uses your existing deadbolt. The August lock hockey puck takes the place of the inside side of your existing deadbolt. It has a motor inside that turns the cylinder to lock and unlock the deadbolt. So on the outside of the house, it looks normal. Inside, it looks futuristic. And you can lock manually inside and out.

Nice feature and good idea- person can get the security of the lock they trust and then automate it, thanks.

Just remember, any automation you do to your house CAN be hacked. Doesn't necessarily mean it will be, but it can be.

Some people refuse to understand this concept.
Or accept it.

But why go to the trouble to hack your door lock, when a rock through the window is quicker and just as effective...

Exactly, they'd also have to know you have it.

Because intrusion damage is something that every responding police officer will understand.
