Buds Guns is pretty much the gold standard of internet firearms retail.

I own precisely one handgun. It is a .22 Ruger Mark III .22/.45 that I bought used for an absurdly low amount when I happened on it at my local Joe's Sporting Goods store. Ruger .22s are reasonably priced when new and extremely well priced used. You might check around and see if there are any used ones available.

By the way, I bought it partly for myself and partly for Number One Son a few Christmases ago. Discretion being the better part of valor, we referred to it as "the puppy" so as not to offend more sensitive relatives, Ruger being the puppy's name. This year Number One Son developed a longing for an M-1 Garand. He found out you could join the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) which is sponsored by Your United States Government, and you could buy a real M-1 military surplus rifle for a significant discount from the open market. When he got it, with discretion remaining the better part of valor, I asked him about "the Big Dog". He knew what I was talking about without even asking.

The Mark III is a great handgun and well worth the price, new or used.

I have used Buds Guns. Excellent transaction. They have a cash price and a credit card price. The price you first see is the cash price. They also charge shipping on some items. Then of course you have your FFL hassle and fee too. When you add it all up, a lot of times the local gun shops only a few dollars more.

I just bought a firearm off GunBroker.com, worked out very well. Found a very hard to get carbine at a good price.

I put together a Ruger 22/45 Lite recently. Stripped it down, added a FastFire 3 red dot, new trigger, etc. etc. Sweetest shooting 22 I have.

I use them almost exclusively.

Last pocket spoon I bought from them I used the local Bass Pro as FFL.

While waiting for it to be brought out spotted the exact same one in the display case for $80.00 more.

If you have shipped to a major retailer for pick up Buds already has all the required FFL info in their system.

Simple transactions.

How quick are they to ship? I've noticed some online shops take forever to ship out.

There also used to be www.budspolicesupply.com where if you were current or ex military or police, the guns were even cheaper still. I went there and got re-routed back to the main page. You could enquire as to whether or not these extra low prices still exist.

I used to transfer a couple a week from Buds. They weren't necessarily the fastest to ship (sometimes the item would come from another party, Sports South comes to mind) but their prices were hard to beat, or so I was told. I also heard the prices can fluctuate, to check back a few times before making a purchase.

When you get your MKIII replace the trigger group with the MKII stuff and get the crisp trigger back. I have a MKII and have shot a couple of MKIII's and it is a night and day difference, the MKII trigger is way much better. It is because the MKIII will not fire with the mag out and you can feel the linkage take up in the spoon. Other then that they are sweet units
