You know you want it

Looks interesting. I'd want to see it in person. I've seen too many supposedly "ground up restoration" cars on which the work was utter garbage and the car only looked good to someone with an untrained eye.
That said, that's a favorite Mustang color. There's an original '65 GT350 in my area that was a factory demonstration car Ford used to show off the model in that same color, beautiful!

Highland Green...in '08-'09 only the Bullitt editions were given that color, in a metallic. This seller seems to think it's worth a premium because it appeared briefly in a TV show last night. Like you said, lots of Bullitt clones out there. Most not as good as this one seems to be.
Steve McQueen never really owned a Mustang. The car was selected for the movie as something a cop might own.

My classic Stang will be a notch back Thank you very much...
I have a picture of a super nice one from a car show in Santa Barbra but I can't find it on my hard drive right now.

The ending last night with the actual Bullit car (as far as I know doesn't exist) was pretty funny.
With a re-make of the opening insturmental.

Really a car I would love to build and drive, not just buy and preserve.

Would be an interesting car but the reality is they drive like a truck and are not as fast as our imaginations remember.
They feel better standing still.

Paul, I had a chance to get a good driving Sunbeam Tiger clone for 8500 dollars on Monday, AND I DIDN'T ACT FAST ENOUGH ! All genuine Tiger internals.
Go ahead and smack me around. It was a doll. |

Good looking and well executed car, but damn that seems like a lot of money. A friend of mine just sold a '69 Mach 1 with a 351W (original motor), factory A/C, disc power brakes, 4-speed, and a lot of drivability mods for about $35k. It was immaculate, I came close to trading a 997S for it. A matching numbers Mach 1 should be worth more than a fastback.

When I saw the 68 charger, I just knew there was going to be a chase scene.
How disappointing.

Sunbeam Tiger clone would be fun Daniel. The originals were cool in the day. I do remember they had a problem of overheating. I know an owner who had put a spacer at the back of the hood to crack it open at the rear to make air flow better. That seemed to help. Which partially explains why I'm done with old cars. I was around when they were new and actually being driven, not the showpieces of today. Now I'm an old fart who appreciates the comfort and performance of the new stuff. My '09 Bullitt Mustang has been a comfortable and well balanced ride for me. Very reliable over the 21,000 miles I've driven it. Extended Warranty still runs until May of next year and it has been unused. Because of that I've had it serviced at the local Ford dealer...I bring the Mobil one. This has been oil & filter changes and tire rotations. The most expensive service so far has been $23.96 at 18,000 miles.

The only problem I have seen in the new Mustangs is winter salt rot. Not a problem you will ever have.

US $50,100.00 Reserve not met [ 24 bids ] Gotta admit, more than I think it's worth...but ptobably still less than build cost.
