Darwin steps up once again.

He should be arrested for intentionally infecting others.

'tongue in cheek'.

I see what you did there.

If he is on effective anti-viral therapy, as I'd imagine he is, he has no detectable virus in his bloodstream/fluids, and has effectively zero chance of infecting anyone. HIV is still present in his liver, but is contained there by the drugs.

Treatment of HIV has come a very long way. If you have access to the drugs.

You the roll the dice by living that lifestyle, you risk paying the price.

No excuse for not divulging this to his partners - it that is indeed what he did('nt do).

Still, one of my favorite actors in the comedy business. As per 2 1/2 men, nobody can portray the inherent core drives and psychology of the male. And come out hilarious at the same time. Any guy who canīt mirror himself in part with the role Charlie plays in that show is either gay or lying politically correct to himself. Just my humble opinion of course.. :)

^ This. That lady they replaced him with doesn't do the role justice

I feel for Charlie. Whether it be through his own misdeeds or not, I would not wish HIV on anyone. It's a horrible disease. At least it is far more controllable these days.

On a side note, why are we so heavily invested in the lives of celebrities? What they do with their lives has absolutely zero impact on my life, so I really couldn't care less who's banging whom, who's getting married/divorced, etc. Why do we care so much?

He portrayed everything that I detest and that is wrong with society and people in general, but if you want to identify that's up to you.

he is the perfect example of what NOT to be.

I don't think livi is saying "that's me!". But certainly a lot of guys can pick out elements of varying degrees in Charlie Harper and identify with those. If we all lived like Charlie Harper we might end up like Charlie Sheen.

I think the show with Charlie in it had some great scripts and Charlie and Jon Cryer worked well together.

+1.

FWIW, I also think he's got no talent as an actor, but YMMV.

I agree, but he portrayed it well. :)

One critic said Keanu Reeves runs the acting gamut from A to B.

Charlie is an A to D actor compared to the A to Z guys. However, the chicks love him. Philip Seymour Hoffman, A to Z. No comparison.

I remember you writing similar stuff about Lebowski more than once.

Not trying to be a jerk or anything but would like to read how these sorts of off-color fictional characters continue to rile you up?

K. Reeves, C. Sheen, P.S.Hoffman, and many/many/many more actors are all plug-n-play elements to Hollywood studio profits.

(I do like the three above, fwiw.)

Steve Carlton 11-22-2015 06:43 PM

Hoffman's pretty much just acting like a dead guy from here on out.

I like them as well. Hoffman has(d) an extremely wide range of talent without good looks. That's why I noted him.

Reeves was well cast in The Matrix but is a dud vs. Hoffman. My take.

Mo Money rules, though.
