Agree with Jeff on this. I have a number of the things (and they're certainly interesting to mess with as an exercise in itself) but I don't see much practical application for them today.
And not meaning to imply that revolvers are obsolete (or there wouldn't be several loaded ones in the house) but a dozen loose rounds take up about as much space as a loaded speed loader. Jim |
I have an Uncle Mike's holder for 2 of the 5 shot speed loaders for my Ruger LCR and it is made to look like a cell phone holder. For my S&W 8 shot TRR8 I use the moon clips as pictured and carry them in another Uncle Mike's carrier as it came with several.
If you decide to use either of these systems it takes a bunch of practice as they are hard to get working smoothly, especially if you are in a gunfight! The easiest way to try to get the hang of them is to buy enough "snap caps" to load up a couple speed loaders and the gun and then have someone verify they are NOT real bullets and run through simulated reloading drills at a range preferably. |
