Agree with Jeff on this. I have a number of the things (and they're certainly interesting to mess with as an exercise in itself) but I don't see much practical application for them today.
And not meaning to imply that revolvers are obsolete (or there wouldn't be several loaded ones in the house) but a dozen loose rounds take up about as much space as a loaded speed loader.

I have an Uncle Mike's holder for 2 of the 5 shot speed loaders for my Ruger LCR and it is made to look like a cell phone holder. For my S&W 8 shot TRR8 I use the moon clips as pictured and carry them in another Uncle Mike's carrier as it came with several.

If you decide to use either of these systems it takes a bunch of practice as they are hard to get working smoothly, especially if you are in a gunfight! The easiest way to try to get the hang of them is to buy enough "snap caps" to load up a couple speed loaders and the gun and then have someone verify they are NOT real bullets and run through simulated reloading drills at a range preferably.

The billet set is nice, is functional, does feel good in your hands, but is mostly for show, since you wouldn't be carrying the plate when carrying or going to the range, takes too much space in the range bag.
