Fun with Words, NOT!
 

Today, I reviewed a report by a colleague who was doing an Indoor Air Quality investigation. He stated that the hallway was finished in "Wayne's Coating". I emailed him back and said that I thought the word that he was thinking about was "wainscoting".

A few weeks ago, the same guy wrote in a report that the "duck tape" on the HVAC was peeling off. Not the "duct tape". I don't think it was a typo either, (quack, quack).

Well, there could be a good reason for the confusion about the tape:

Original Strength 60 yd Duct Tape | Duck® Brand

Wonderful boss I had used the term "For all intensive purposes".

His boss used the term "flustrated"

I just zipped it. Somebody kill me.

Driving home from work every day I passed a sign from a landscape company that was hiring. The sign read, "Now excepting applications". It took them over a month to finally correct it.

There is a funny picture on the net of a guy holding a sign that says get a brain morans.

He probably is a guy that uses a radio arm saw.

Does he post here? I've seen all the above and dozens more....

(My manager used to say subjugated when he should have used subjected...I'm not sure it was a slip-up)

Those kinds of things are "defiantly" irritating. I see that on this site pretty often.

There was a listing for a house here recently that started out, "Owner Sez, sell this house". Seriously? You expect a commission for advertising like a high schooler!!!!

There is no way they're going to sell their house. Probably the most misused words today.

I had a VP of purchasing refer to the size of something as "linear square footage".

I had a regional manager once who put out a voice mail for our region about an approaching hurricane.

Used the tern BLUNT of the storm (instead of BRUNT). We were rolling on the floor....
