What's on your spoon bucket list?

On mine, partway there:

1911 Gold Cup
Colt SAA
Colt Diamondback
S&W 17, 29, 686
Browning HP
1851 Navy

1903A3
M1 Garand
M1A National Match
Enfield No. 4(T)
Remington 541T
S&W 76

Short list, mostly affordable. But meaningful to me.

Anyone else?

I don't have a lot of guns, but in the light of recent events, I'm thinking of a compact 9mm or two.

Winchester 1886 Deluxe antique in 45-90 or 50 Express…Case colors, button mag, shotgun butt, half octagon/half round. Only if I hit the lottery.

On Gunbroker right now, but in a smaller caliber. 6 hours left at $17,650. To rich for my blood.

I bought it earlier this year. Axtell 1877 Sharps No. 1 45-70 engraved by Grimstad.

1 left...CPA Stevens 44 1/2 Sporting/Silhouette with 3 barrels 22LR, 28-30 and 38-55. Already have the exhibition wood for it.

Jrboulder 12-06-2015 12:15 PM

Really the only 2 areas of regular firearms that I'm interested in that I haven't explored is O/U shotguns and lever guns.

So probably a Winchester 1892 and a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I Sporting.

Hmmm... I pretty much have, or have had, everything on my bucket list. There is one class of firearm that will likely elude me forever at this point, though: The side by side British express rifle. A Rigby "rising lump" action with barrels chambered in .450 Nitro would make a nice, even useful, hunting rifle. A Royal Grade Holland and Holland in .577 Nitro would be just for bragging rights.

Rick Lee 12-06-2015 01:27 PM

Anything politicians don't want me to have is either in my gunsafe or on my bucket list to buy.

Por_sha911 12-06-2015 01:29 PM

You guys talk about a spoon bucket list and then show a bunch of guns.
This is a spoon

We get it. You think it's silly to refer to guns as spoons.
It's been a long time tradition over here already.
Get over it.

My number one SPOON on my bucket list

A FN 5 seven. Not legal over here. Just to shoot one would be awesome.

Second:
Also the HK P 7, like the one sniper had but stainless, really really want!

Springfield M1A with wood stock.
A good 1911 style .45
An A1 pattern AR-15
A Ruger Single Six
A good O/U shotgun
A PTR-91 or FN/FAL
A Browning Hi-Power
And another more modern 9mm pistol... maybe an H&K P30 or Sig P226. A couple friends really like their Springfield XD series handguns....

Wouldn't mind having an MP5SD2/3/5 or 6. lol

I had an older German P226 and it just seemed like an exercise in making things harder than they should be, especially compared to my Glock 19. Still have the glock but the sig is long gone.

I have always wanted the "assault" spoon the media keeps talking about...seems like a magical appliance :D

Other than that, I am good for now.

Check out Turnbull's 1886's. While not cheap, they are a small fraction of that.

Had a pretty good '86 in my hands at a local gun shop a couple of months ago. Beautiful wood, but one of those infernal "ventilated" recoil pads. Somewhat nicely refinished, but too many rounded corners and such. And blued, like a '71 or later '86. Pretty darn cheap, though - just about a grand. I put it back... Maybe shoulda grabbed it...

BeyGon 12-06-2015 05:35 PM

My list is simple, another 8" Stainless 357 Colt Python. Like all things good, I sold my last one.

Every time I think "Gee, I should sell that one. After all I never shoot it..." I have to stop myself and remember the 29-2 that I regret selling, the 25-2 I regret selling, the 6" 1911 I regret selling...

These days I mostly dream about a 1911 from one of the better pistol smiths.

A Thompson .45 with a drum magazine.

aigel 12-06-2015 07:56 PM

I would like a .243 - something ultra-light for mountain hunting. After that it'd be only collectible stuff that I certainly could do without. My bucket list isn't much of a "need to own this tool some day" list. Rather than doing things - and if needed, i.e. for extended mountain hunting, it would involve tools, such as an ultra light .243. :)

Cheers,

G

I'm on the hunt for a S&W M-29 to round out my collection. I want an early 29, Blue, 6", original grips, No target trigger or hammer. The box & paperwork too........as long as I'm wishing.

Then I'll have my "N" frame line up complete.

I have one, but eBay'ed the box and grips off because I don't use them and will never sell the gun. My dad bought it new from Ray's in Dallas around 1981 and I still have the receipt. She's a beast. When I'm at the range and everyone is lighting off full autos and suppressed toys, I light off a few 180gr rounds and everyone comes over to watch.

regency 12-06-2015 08:18 PM

Lucky. Someday the right one will come my way. Have a pre-model 28, 5 screw, 4" highway patrolman. A pre-model 27, 5 screw, 3.5" & A model 28 highway patrolman, 4" ( 1961 vintage & never shot ).

Not much of a collector but have my eyes on a modern scatterspoon to replace an aging 12 GA that weighs 9.5 lbs. I am a lefty so the Browning BPS looks interesting. I used to shoot skeet a long time ago and thinking of revisiting the sport with a shiny new toy.

Thanks for this info. I was basing my desire for a Sig on so many Pelicans who say the Sigs are super awesome. Maybe they are not referring to the 226.

VincentVega 12-07-2015 05:59 AM

1911, never sure on a basic GI or something like the Range Officer
A nice old shotgun, LC Smith if I can make it work.

tadd 12-07-2015 07:24 AM

Early powder springs MAC10.

Neat design, open bolt... as all good machine guns should be :-). Who wants to cook their ammo between bursts!

flipper35 12-07-2015 07:41 AM

Garand
M1A with real wood.
PS90
High Standard Double Nine in Nickel
Kimber Raptor - full size. Raptor II if I can't find an original.
Mini-14
Hi-Power
S&W in .44 Magnum.
Shiloh Sharps in .45-110.

I had one. It was a very fun novelty, but inaccurate and expensive if you hold the trigger very long.

But it was fun.

I have a 226 and 938 that are super awesome. I had a 250 that I traded for a Colt Trooper because I didn't like the DAO trigger pull, and my son has a Mosquito that is a POS.

BlueSkyJaunte 12-07-2015 11:57 AM

I can vouch for the Mosquito being a POS. Thankfully neither of the two I have shot were mine.

Retailers are blowing out the P250 because nobody wants them. SIG, in their infinite wisdom, decided that reason people didn't want P250s is because they are hammer-fired. So they made a version that's striker-fired and called it the P320. Frankly, it is a thoroughly mediocre pistol at best (I own one, as a kind of experiment), especially considering that the key selling point--interchangeable frames, barrels, slides--are basically vaporware unless you order directly from SIG.

SIG's best stuff was German. I'd love an X5 or an X6 (or both). But in the past 5-10 years or so they seem to have lost their way--there's a lot of "throw it out there and see if it sticks" in their product offerings.

SilberUrS6 12-07-2015 12:52 PM

Ma Deuce, with a lottery win so I could afford the ammo I'd put through it
