Anyone play with Eotech's?
Looking at the XPS3-0. Anyone have one? Likes, dislikes, alternative?
I loctited a picatinny rail on my marlin 45-70 that does not obstruct the iron sights . Plan to be used for elk this winter if I get drawn. ![]()

Too much $ for me. Very happy user of a Bushnell TRS-25 on my FAL and a Primary Arms 2moa dot that is darn near a clone of the TRS on my Ruger Mk II. If I were to buy a 3rd I'd have to waffle between the 2 again.
Removed the rear sight to get it on the Ruger, but on the FAL using a DSA railed top cover either of them cowitness with the irons fine .... |

I've had the battery die at the range twice on me, ending my day before it began. Now I have a cheapo red/green dot scope, but co-witnessed with the BUIS. If the battery dies, I can keep going.

You do know the gov't sued Eotech for wandering zero, right? And anyone with an Eotech can return them to L3 for a full refund, right?

I have a Bushnell TRS-25 on a PS-90 and love it. Lots of great reviews online.

What are you after that eotech offers?
If you just want a good, rugged red dot, it's hard to beat an old aimpoint Comp M2 and they can be had cheap off fleabay. If you want the circle and dot reticle, meprolight/mako makes a unit. Trijicon also offers that type Reticle in their low magnification mini ACOGs Meprolight http://www.themakogroup.com/optics/mepro-m21-self-powered-day-night-reflex-sight-with-dust-cover.html Last edited by HHI944; 02-17-2016 at 07:54 PM.. |

We're really happy with the Primary Arms PACRSL. Red dot with integrated green laser. It's held zero quite well over the last year. Supposed to have long battery life.

I've had an EXPS-3, and sold it rather quickly. No failures, but the buttons felt cheap, and I didn't like the interface (or battery life). For a 1x red dot, I'd stick with the Aimpoint T1/T2 at that price point.
If you are looking for something more wallet-friendly, check out the TRS-25 suggested above or the Primary Arms/Holosun T1 clones. Those are probably the only T1 clones I would consider. PA is an excellent/reputable vendor as well. That said, if you are going to be using it for hunting, you may want to look at a variable-power set-up. You should be able to find a decent 1-4x or 1-6x variable for less than the EOTech, and you will have magnification on tap when needed. Plus you will have more reticle options to choose from. YMMV. |
