Christmas drink ideas?!!
Hey all,
Was searching google for some holiday drink ideas but couldn't find any website that would list some simple easy recipes! Anybody have some staples that they like to make when entertaining during the holidays?? ![]() |

Fairly tasty
Eggnog Recipe : Alton Brown : Food Network Sounds interesting, but I haven't had it Moscow Mule Cocktail Recipe - Allrecipes.com I slightly fancier (and much more of a pain in the rear to make) version of the mule. (and I would prefer the carbonation) Another possibility

Top shelf stuff on the rocks. Baileys, Tuaca, and coffee chipshot in a fun glass. Champagne. Too easy. Beer is not a holiday beverage.

I vote for the Moscow mule. Must use the copper mug!

I like traditionals, Rum and fresh Grapefruit juice for one,
and, Vodka Cranberry for another. Brandy and eggnog is good. |

I've just come back from "The pina colada tour or Rarotonga" so, of course, I'm recommending pina coladas.
They have to be good though! lots of variation in them ![]() |

Baileys and Egg Nog is wonderful, as is Kahlua and Egg Nog. Baileys+Kahlua+Egg Nog isn't too shabby, either.

It is called a poinsettia.
6 oz cranberry juice 3 oz apple pie moonshine 1 oz creme soda. You can't taste the moonshine and they are smooth. Dave |

Berentzen's Apple, Bailey's, or Kahlua on the rocks are nice end of the evening drinks. Tito's and tonic is my mainstay, though. For a hot drink, hot apple cider with Laird's Apple Jack and cinnamon.

I've got a recipe for homemade Bailey's that I can copy out here if that's your kind of thing.
A couple of Christmases ago I was making Christmas Eve dinner with my mom when I decided to have something to drink while I cooked. Opened the liquor cabinet and remembered the rum in back and pulled out the bottle of Pampero Aniversario. Damn, that was the best glass of rum I've ever had. Took the sheath off to find out it had moved with us from Venezuela in 1982 and had been aging for about 35 years. So some good rum is really nice at Christmas.

We like Polar Bears around here.
Put on a pan of milk and make some hot chocolate. A nice large coffee cup/mug works nice. Pour in some hot chocolate, add equal parts peppermint schnapps, Bailey's and creme de Cacao. Top with a bit whip cream if you like! Word to the wise, they do creep up on you.
