Ninja Detection Lights For City Drivers?
You ever start a turn at a city intersection and suddenly find a hipster starting into his smartphone, crossing the street just a foot off your front fender?. Your headlights didn't illuminate him because they point forward and he came from your side. You didn't see him because he's dressed like a ninja and it is dark and raining.
I'm wondering about installing some auxiliary lights pointing at a 45 degree sideways angle, switched on by the turn signal circuit. Thoughts?

Especially when he is on a skateboard at the same time - also in the dark. And when I politely explained to him it wasn't a good idea to run a red light without looking, him and his friends wanted to attack me. Duh.

Hey, Tucker had them in 1947. My MB has them, too.
However, survival of the fittest may be a better solution.

That was one of the features of the BMW 535 that I liked. That car had the best lights of any car I've ever owned

Yep, corvettes and caddy's had them way back. They were called cornering lights, IIRC.

All sorts of American cars had them over the years. Nissan Maximas of the 80s, 90s and into the 200s had them, too.

You are way off in your history. The middle light on this 1947 Tucker turned with the steering wheel. That guy was way ahead of his time.

#1 My shop is in the friggin epicenter of all the hipster universe......Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I have to dodge these asshats every damn day. I love it when they stop in the crosswalk against the light then give you (me) a look when I drive up to them.
#2 My GTi has the fogs that illuminate when turning, very helpful.
