"Worlds Fastest Indian"... Great movie.

Not on my all time favorite list but "Apocalypto" would have to be one of the most underrated movies ever.

I had never seen "The World's Fastest Indian" until I read this thread this afternoon. I just finished watching it on Amazon streaming. Beautiful and touching movie. I really enjoyed it. Thanks guys for the tip.

Wasn't Brad Pitt in SNATCH? The Gypsy boxer, or was that something else
I really liked the Indian movie but that was because I used to collect really old motorcycles. and it was a good movie.

New favorite movie, it's a tie, and neither of them are new, but I vote for:

There Will Be Blood.
No Country for Old Men.

I was hoping the Hateful 8 would be a new favorite, but it's not up to par with those two.

Another great automotive movie from down under is "The Beast" by Eric Bana. Great explanation of the love affair with cars. Watch it with your spouse, it will explain a lot to them. Plus they get to listen to Bana talk for a while, women love that!

I just glanced through my Netflix history. Impossible to have a best movie of all time. Best movies I've seen would be

The Wall
Amelie
Field of Dreams
Big Fish
The Incredibles
Léon, The Professional
District 9
Phoebe in Wonderland
I've Heard the Mermaids Singing
Midnight in Paris
American History X

probably 5-10 more seen in the theater. But one? Couldn't do it.

We owned Miramax back then, and I worked on both. IMHO, TWBB was crap, but NCFOM was excellent. Speaking from a behind the scenes working scenario.

I thought ,"There Will be Blood "to be an excellent movie, great plot ,cinematography, and acting.
"No Country For Old Men" was great also. Tommy Lee Jones at his best, great villain, and Josh Brolin...underrated.

"I'm Finished"

Agree on TWBB. I barely made it through that. NCFOM gets a "meh".

But Worlds Fastest Indian was a great movie telling a wonderful story. I couldn't get over the fact that Munro didn't know he had to register. But then again in the pre-internet world...Oh and the safety inspection was hilarious.

Mystic River
.... from the novel by Dennis Lehane,
Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, and Kevin Bacon are exceptional.
See the movie, then read the book.

LOVED that movie! One of my favorites. Yes, he played a pikey fighter. When playing the DVD you have the option of no subtitles, subtitles, or pikey subtitles. Watch with pikey subtitles, you catch what he's saying a lot better.

berettafan 01-20-2016 07:15 AM

enjoyed the indian movie but wow, favorite ever? strong praise indeed!

3:10 to Yuma (new version) is one of my all time favorites. I just get lost in that thing. such neat characters.

Braveheart is a winner too. As is Gangs of New York, The Departed....

some great stuff out there.

Pitt in that move was just superb. Fascinating character.

The movie itself....i'll just watch Pulp Fiction again instead. wasn't bad but wasn't original.
