I sold my 914-6 for $25K in 2009. I bought it for $7K, some assembly required. I had under $20K into it...
It was NOT original. While the motor and transmission were original, I rebuilt the motor to 2.7 RS specifications with Nikisil cylinders and the long stroke crank and rods. It probably made 210 hp. I rebuilt the transmission to a side shifter and installed the side-shift linkage. In the past, someone replaced the floor pan, but didn't do a great welding job. While I owned it, it had the classic chassis suspension failure that required re-welding. Upgrades: I rolled the fenders so I could fit 16" Fuchs. I had the original 14" Fuchs, but you couldn't find decent tires for those. I had the car stripped to metal and repainted. I replaced the doors with the later model '73 doors to have the better window regulators and crash protection. I installed seat brackets and had a '72 movable passenger seat installed. And I had the entire interior redone in black leather. If I had owned the car any longer, I was going to have Air Conditioning installed. I also had the materials to sound deaden the car. It looked original from the outside, but was not original. |

I sold it to help fund my business. If was a fun car. But no one knew what it was. I went to a Houston Porsche meet up and was put down by a couple of late model 911 owners who had no idea what a numbers matching 914-6 meant.
