My sweetie is 6 years old today!
Hard to believe that our Bodi is 6 today:
![]() ![]() He is such a great family member...we feel blessed! BUT, it's hard to believe that this guy was such a "bunch of work" for the first year and a half! I mean it was pure hell! I dreaded coming home from work 'cause I knew I'd have to deal with all the shyte he'd throw our way! Biting, tearing up stuff, having to walk a hell dog, scaring the neighbour's kids, etc. ! He's our first ever dog so we had much to learn.....but now? He is the sweetest, most gentle and happy go-lucky guy around! And I can't wait to get home!

And how many of those 6 years has he spent on that sofa?
He looks awfully contented. ~~~~~~~~~ "He's our first ever dog so we had much to learn..." . You found out...dogs don't get trained...owners do. ![]() Give him a good tummy rub...from the PPOT dog lovers.

Thanks everyone!
He had a great time....ok, I'll admit that we spoil this guy just a bit! ![]() After reading wdfifteen's thread on (sub)humans inflicting harm on helpless animals...poor Hayden comes to mind...I can't help but feel the need to hug my Bodi a little more and then spoil him some more. But I'm ok with that! Vash....ya I know, but my wife also approves, in fact she encourages him to cuddle on the couch...I don't mind too! Ferraripete......us too, many more years we hope! Don Ro....that's pretty much HIS sofa! wdfifteen....my hat's off to you and your wife on what you are doing to rehabilitate injured and abused dogs! Thank you! You're good peoplez'.. Bill.......that's his "can't you see I'm napping" look! Guy......yes, he trained us! Impactbumper......I'm a little partial but, ya, he's awesome! Cheers!

Ignoring the dog for ten minutes before and after leaving makes a huge difference. Don't say goodbye. Don't greet hello. Just walk out and walk in. Scolding the bad habits may help in some situations, but usually it makes it much worse It is not the root of the problem. The problem is he wants to be with you. His buddy. And he will tear up anything in his way. People (like me) need to be trained as well. Dog language is completely different. There is a good educational series here:http://www.youtube.com/show/dogwhisperer
