Sounds to me like you are wasting your time. We all have those acquaintances that are the "smile and nod" type. Just let it go.

I will go one better than that Fred. An auto transmission Miata. I tried a 2006 auto Miata last fall. I tried to like it. It was recently imported from Arizona but I did not feel the involvement in it without a manual transmission. Could have got it for half the price of the 2013 6 speed Miata that I decided on.

There are some beautiful manual transmissions out there. Boxster and Miata are only two of them. But for busy city driving or the price is right auto transmissions can suit some to a t.....

I'm tired of shifting...trucks, motorcycles (sorta), and cars.
I would have taken an auto when I bought my '13 Fiat Abarth but was not available.
Now they offer it...I think it's a 6 speed.

I used to drive my 911 to meetings in San Jose, often returning to Berkeley during the height of rush hour. After 1.5 hours pressing the clutch in stop and go traffic, I was pretty sick of the manual trans.
