Have you watched Dead Pool yet?

It's another Marvel super hero movie but extremely violent, vulgar, sexist and FUN. I loved it! According to the critics, who overwhelmingly panned it, it's going to appeal only to adolescents and the strange. They got it half right!

stomachmonkey 03-06-2016 11:20 AM

It was hysterical.

Loved it.

Who cares what the critics think.

It's absolutely trounced every other X-Men release to date.

$600+ Million global box office receipts as of last week.

Craig T 03-06-2016 11:23 AM

My wife and I went last night. We both thought is was funny as hell. Your description about was spot on. I guess that puts my wife and I in the "strange" catagory. A lot of baby boomer humor went right over the heads of young people sitting around us.

Its not going to win any academy awards, but for a fun movie after happy hour drinks, worth the price of admission.

86 ssinit 03-06-2016 05:49 PM

Best movie so far this year. Ryan Renolds was as good in deadpool as he was bad in the green lantern. Great fun movie.

Brando 03-06-2016 07:13 PM

Just saw it for the third time with friends. Thought it was great, except for the couple who brought their 7 or 8 year old daughter. REALLY?!

rattlsnak 03-06-2016 09:09 PM

i haven't seen it yet but every single person i know who has, has said it was great!

Are you kidding me?
I just watched the trailers.
No wonder the youth gets more and more voilent!

BlueSkyJaunte 03-07-2016 09:06 AM

My wife and I both thought it was a hoot. We had to dump the kids off with Grandma and Grandpa but that's what they're there for. ;)

Maybe I'm getting jaded, but my one complaint is that I felt the CGI for Colossus didn't seem particularly well done.

Blake Lively made Green lantern great. hell, her just standing there undulating would mesmerize me enough to ignore Ryan.

have not seen DeadPool yet.

varmint 03-07-2016 12:33 PM

i liked it. but in the spirit of nitpicking,

deadpool needed a better villain. should have been someone as over the top as the hero. instead it was just a hans gruber rip off who could throw a punch.

kach22i 03-07-2016 12:36 PM

I saw it, liked it a lot.

Recommended.

Les Paul 03-07-2016 12:37 PM

Funniest movie I've seen in awhile. Even better if you don't mind slicing and dicing. Since its been out a month I thought the 2:30 would be great. And of course some idiot parents brought their kids. Really?

sc_rufctr 03-07-2016 01:40 PM

Saw it! loved it! ... Great movie!

epbrown 03-08-2016 05:59 AM

Very fun film. The first thing I've gone to see twice in theaters since the first Matrix movie. I've liked Morena Bacarrin since her Firefly days and this is the best I've seen her since then. Hope she gets to continue the role in the sequel.

+1. So glad she has long hair again.

***** Spoiler alert..*********

Finally saw it yesterday, and it was great entertainment.

I did notice two things though.

*********** Spoiler alert, but don't read this if you haven't seen it..***********

What happened to the girl villain after Colossus carries her out of the rubble?? They never showed her again? I thought that was very weird that they didn't show what happened to her after that huge fight scene.

And very bad editing on the scene where Reynolds has Francis on the ground near the end. One second his face is all bloodied up and the next time they show him, hardly nothing and then it flip flopped back and forth like that a few times. Ridiculously noticeable.

I guess it's not really a spoiler to mention those things, but you can PM me as to not spoil this for anyone else who hasn't seen it yet if you think it might be...

sc_rufctr 03-12-2016 10:31 PM

I noticed the missing "villain" at the end as well... Maybe she ran away???

Brando 03-13-2016 09:10 AM

I thought it was odd after DP got stabbed in the right side of his head, the wound flip-flopped right - left - right as he was fighting with francis.

Still funny: "What's my name?" "oooooh imma fckn spell it out for you".

techweenie 06-10-2016 08:19 PM

Finally rented it. Watched it twice. What a hoot.

Not generally a fan of the Marvel superhero stuff with the exception of Ironman and the first Captain America... oh, and Spider Man. Just wasn't into X-Men.

Deadpool grabbed me from the opening credits... "Directed by an Overpaid Tool." Aren't they all?

Took them many years to get it greenlighted.

Jeff Alton 06-10-2016 08:22 PM

Watched on demand last weekend. Funny, but not what I expected. I liked it, laughed out loud many times. The production crew used our Cayenne TT as a camera car during filming so I had no choice but to watch it... :)

HardDrive 06-29-2016 06:42 PM

Caught this on the plane returning home today. I generally hate movies, and it's pretty rare that I literally laugh out loud at a film. So great.

masraum 06-29-2016 06:58 PM

It was very entertaining.

One an only vaguely related note, I'm stoked for the new Bourne movie to come out, Jason Bourne.

Porsche-O-Phile 06-29-2016 07:08 PM

Finally got to watching it a week or so ago - hilarious and just a darned fun watch, albeit super crass. Reminded me of the first time I saw "Clerks" years ago - couldn't stop laughing and MAN! Great one-liners to memorize! What a hoot!

Shaun @ Tru6 06-29-2016 07:36 PM

Deadpool was fantastic, saw it a few times, but I can't wait for Suicide Squad to come out on August 5th.

onewhippedpuppy 06-29-2016 07:49 PM

I just watched it on a plane, I'm not a big superhero movie guy but really enjoyed it.

LWJ 06-30-2016 03:59 AM

Just saw it on the plane to Frankfurt. I give it close to a 10. Really liked it. My two teens did as well.

Oh Haha 06-30-2016 06:16 AM

Rented it recently and thought it was very funny. I'm not into superhero movies but this was done in a different way, obviously.

red-beard 06-30-2016 06:25 AM

Saw it, need to see it again.

On Green Lantern, I don't think Ryan Reynolds was that bad. But the Script? Horrible.

I read somewhere that in the wake of Deadpool's success, they re-wrote half of the dialogue in SS to make it funnier.

Shaun @ Tru6 07-01-2016 04:58 AM

That is good news. And I can understand why they would, just hope someone was smart enough to let SS have it's own feel and not just a DP2.

Seahawk 07-01-2016 09:09 AM

Perhaps it is because I don't watch any of the super hero movies, never read comic books, etc., but I found Dead Pool an interesting, sometimes funny concept but a really hard movie to watch.

I don't get hyper, romanticized violence. I just don't.

I'm sure I missed a lot of the inside jokes and references as well.

Brando 07-01-2016 04:28 PM

The comics are very much in the same light. Especially if you read a few of the recent trade paperbacks.

At 59, I enjoyed it. Saw it on DVD but would have paid to watch it in a theater.

I like Ryan Reynolds, though.

I never read comics when growing up. Always outside. Inside days were Legos and then building Spitfires and B17s. Closest I ever came to comics was watching The Maxx on MTV 20 years, but that's a comic unlike any other. Deep, disturbing. Definitely not for everyone.

So, what you are saying is that you do not know who Race Bannon is?

Hadji?

Benton Quest?

You do not know this monster?

Heh-heh.

You are but a pup.

Johnny Quest, maybe 67-ish.

Shaun @ Tru6 07-01-2016 06:31 PM

only in spirit.

pavulon 07-01-2016 08:31 PM

Have The Maxx on VHS. Loved it on MTV but always appreciated a hero with a dark, troubled side. Batman was my guy from the beginning. Also built every WWII aircraft and tank I could find. Strung B-17s, -24's and -29's from the ceiling. Did one B-52 as well. Monogram got a lot of my money and had my vote over Revell's stuff without fail.
