How about investing in good driving lessons regardless the car?
Sounds like not many people have much confidence in their prodigy though. |

If it's a trust worthy kid, the car doesn't matter. If it's not a trustworthy kid, the car doesn't matter.
I had buddies with serious cars in high school, 500whp+ and they took care of and were careful with what they had as they understood the car. Then you have the kid whose parents bought him a bone stock Mitsubishi Lancer...that lived about 3 weeks before being flipped off the end of a guardrail... Is it easier to get in trouble with a faster car, of course. Does it mean you will, no. Does a vehicle that commands more attention and skill likely to create a better driver, i think so.

All depends on the kid and who they hang out with. I rode a GSXR-750 to school when I was 16. I still can't believe my parents let me have that machine in the garage.
Although I think all new cars are fast no?

BTW, buy a few spare oil pans. Made of beautiful Teutonic (ahem.. Mexican) glass. Cheap too..

I learned to ride on my dad's Kawi Z1 900. He learned to swim by getting thrown off the Santa Monica pier...
