They could have stuffed a microbus up my butt or down my throat. Bring it.

Now, the best thing is the next 24 hours. Best sleep - in and out - delicious and divine.

I think it was the Michael Jackson stuff.

:D mmmmmmmmmmm

+infinity and beyond.

When I had my colonoscopy they offered to do GI as well but my Doc didn't order it. If you have acid reflux then I say hell yea.

MMiller 03-21-2016 08:41 PM

Had upper done multiple times and once both done at same time. As stated if you suffer from reflux get your throat looked at..

Bottom line....as a teen of the 70's .....LOVE the drugs! Schedule for another upper next month... Can't wait

M.D. Holloway 03-22-2016 08:35 AM

on clear liquids today

I had an issue with the SUPREP - the 2nd round made me throw up (last week) - although I've had two recommendations since to use with gatorade or iced tea to mix with - thankfully got a clean bill

+1 on the sleep

M.D. Holloway 03-22-2016 05:04 PM

I have no idea how you could mix this stuff with anything other than water. It is ridiculously sweet...

J P Stein 03-22-2016 05:12 PM

I had them both done last Thursday. Not my first rodeo.....but that new prep is gawd awful. I'm short several feet of innards and over more than 10 seconds away from the throne was disaster. The next day the second part of 2 was a piece of cake.....but I was ready fer it.

As for the procedures themselves, who the hell knows?

JavaBrewer 03-22-2016 05:53 PM

MoviPrep and Tito's Vodka for the second helping the night of. Makes for a very serene visit.

You should be pretty clear of solids by now.

You doing ok?

I don't recall any middle of the night trauma.

M.D. Holloway 03-22-2016 08:07 PM

About 30 minutes after the first dose I hit the head...shyt shower. Then on about every 15 to 20 minutes had to go again. I think I am purged for now. Had a few bottles of water. Have to wake up at 4 for the final dose. This ain't no monkey business! They want you cleaned out!

Man am I hungry...

I hope everything goes well.

My last colonoscopy was almost uneventful......

I was laying there on the table with the IV port in my wrist. Here comes the doc with the syringe of happy juice and plugs it in and injects. IMMEDIATELY I feel like my arm is on fire. Then my arm feels like it is going to explode. I'm yelling. I'm screaming. They are standing there just looking at me and finally (about 15 seconds) the nurse realizes that the blood pressure cuff was pumped UP! There was no room in my vein for my blood plus the contents of the syringe. The nurse rips the cuff off and the juice surges and I'm out. If that vein had ruptured it would have gotten really intense fast.

Ya, this prep sucks. My head is pounding.

I just had my second one. BP cuff was on my left arm, IV in my right hand. First one I didn't hydrate enough before the prep, and they almost couldn't find a vein for the IV.

Did anyone here get any advice about rebuilding or replacing your gut bacteria after? I didn't and I'm having issues now. I've also seemed to have lost the ability to properly digest Mexican food, which sucks, because I really like Mexican food.

I occasionally use a probiotic named Align. Pricy stuff for over the counter. A couple pills for a couple days put me back on track. 90 % of the pills go on the shelf.

Charles Freeborn 03-23-2016 07:39 AM

Probiotics and yoghurt..

pavulon 03-23-2016 08:26 AM

Propofol is well known to cause discomfort when administered (was the medication white like milk?). The cuff stopped the medication in the vein---ouchy!! Many will mix and/or administer some IV xylocaine prior to propofol which attenuates the discomfort.

It's entertaining and educational to read the commentary in this thread!SmileWavy

So did everything come out OK?

M.D. Holloway 03-23-2016 01:46 PM

By 6AM only what looked like very pale yellow water was coming out. In the procedure room the Anesthesiologist told me she was about to administer my sleepy meds. I asked her what would happen if I fought it and her reply "you won't be able too" in a coy voice. I then woke up in the recovery room. They said it would feel like 15 seconds but honestly I felt like I took a 30 min nap. I dreamed good dreams of good times and fine women and song...

The doc that did the procedure also treated me for pancreatitis a few years ago. He said he remembered me. I called BS on it then he said something that I don't think was on the record "sure I do Mr. Holloway, you thought that your pancreatitis was caused by KFC!" I then said it was! He asked 'how do you know?" Because Doc, I haven't had KFC and I haven't had pancreatitis so there!" He thought that was funny.

All toll, he removed 5 polyps, 4 about a mm and the 5th was a cm which he said could be pre-cancerous. He also said I show slight signs of diverticulitis. I should increase my fiber content and see him again in 5 years.

My Son picked me up, went out for Chinese food. Took a long nap afterwards.

Yes, drugs are good. I get the addiction thing totally...

I think they want us to eat a bale of hay as a side dish with every meal.
