Really enjoyed watching him work. Appeared to be a bright, hard-working and genuine guy.

He was one of the few on 60 minutes I liked and trusted. But I never watched that show again after they did the hit job on Audi- decimated their sales in the states for a year or so.

two of us that makes although I eventually watched it on occasion after that. Ed Bradley really did a number on Audi and I happened to own an Audi Coupe GT at that very time (which by the way was in ways the best car I've ever owned)..

I remember his Vietnam reports. They were among the first to stop parroting the government line about how well the war was going.

And CBS got a call from the White House to axe him because of it. Someone at CBS must have had balls back then because they said no way and his career became a rocket ship after that.

I watched his retirement feature after the regular 60 Minutes program on Sunday. Commented to my wife that I hoped he didn't kick the bucket too soon like everybody else that retired from the program. I guess everybody stays as long as they can, because they know the end is almost immediate after leaving. I still miss Andy Rooney - so much my eye brows are starting to look like his.

Yeah, the government so pi$$ed off that they call the RCMP to see if he was on their "Communist Camarade" list.

Kind of funny the way he got to CBS, another CBC journalist send a tape of himself looking for a job. Morley was also on the tape. CBS was impressed with Morley and he was offered a job.

My problem with 60 minutes happened earlier in the 1980s when they slaughtered the Jeep CJ, by intentionally putting it into a rollover condition after cranking the steering wheel hard over to the stops at 40 mph. My Mother saw that show and took it as the word of God, and absolutely FORBID us from ever owning a Jeep. Later, when I was married, my wife had an 1985 Jeep CJ7, and even with spirited driving on curvy roads for the 4 years we owned it, I never even lifted one wheel, let alone rolled it.

I think my favorite pieces of his were about "art" the plain white canvas that sold for huge money and the urinals or the three basketballs floating in tank. Just stupid stuff that the "art" community said was art and put sill prices on it. And if you can sell some fool a piece of "art" for that it is a great scam.
