My wife's new ride... and it's a BIG one!
My wife has been with the Skywest since 1998. She's applied at various major airlines and had a few interviews, but never an offer. Well, she got the call today from Atlas Air and she's officially hired. Her training class starts mid March. Once she's done with school, she'll be flying 747s all over the world.

That's great!! I have several close friends/former coworkers at Atlas now and they all love it. The only negative is the time away from home in each rotation but now that they bought Southern maybe things will get better. I have seen all of their pics from all around the world. Truly an amazing job!

The important question is - what kind of sidearm is she carrying at work now?

Cool!
Congrats. I didn't know anything about Atlas and did some surfing for info. Link to a virtual tour of their newest freighter. Boeing's New Airplane

That is awesome! Amazing...just 25 years ago a female piloting a commercial 747 would have been unheard of. You Go Mrs. LeeH!!!

Yah, and you have a nice little pension and your retirement life is GOOD! No good job is easy in this era of churning and overworking employees. A commercial pilot is still a good living and I know two, both a with very good quality of life.
