Disrespectful People

I got home from Australia yesterday, had a pretty good trip. Spent the day with the wifey, saw a movie, had some quality time - all in all a good end to the trip.

I take today as a "work on cars" day. Started with AV Cars & Coffe, drove the 911 SC over and had a great time. Some of the people were pretty friendly, most were in their cliques. Either way some REAL nice cars. Oh, OCSD made an appearance too.

And...

That got a chuckle out of me. AFTER the organizers put a big disclaimer out there about exhibition of speed getting the fuzz. OCSD even said "We'll be nearby."

But here's the icing on the cake. I get back and am ready to do the Softronic tune on my Cayman S. Some mother$&#&$_er put gum on my windshield! The blatant disrespectful nature of some people is appalling to me. I took a pic, went to the property management office and showed them. They apologized but could not do anything. I did not expect them to - just wanted to make it known some dips#&+$ is vandalizing other peoples' property. If I caught someone in the act their day would end very badly.

I have a dash cam waiting to be installed on my work truck - supposed to be motion activated I think. Can't wait to catch some shmuck doing something they shouldn't.

There are some real scum bags out there.....

Porsche envy... be glad it was only gum AND it was applied to the glass!

Could be worse... we were leaving the movie theater and walked by a dusty Miata... someone had drawn a penis on the hood in the dust.

People suck. I truly am getting so sick of what we have evolved into. People are so jealous that they would rather see another person fail than succeed. They are so jealous that instead of admiring the vehicle your hard work was able to afford for you, they smear dog feces all over the hood of your car because they can't afford one. It's disgusting.

By all means get pissed, but remember the most they can aspire to in their life is sticking gum on some-one's windscreen.

Thanks for the tips on removal gents. I parked it in the sun and let it get gooey, used alcohol to clean it off. Pretty big annoyance and I am even more cynical about people now. Especially my neighbors. A couple of neck-bearded tools are moving in as I type this. I was chatting with one of my (friendly) neighbors and he's seen some creepers on that side of the complex. Usually up to no good.

When you have someone running for President by saying "my wife is hotter than yours" to his adversary, it's hard to be surprised about random gum/dog poo vandalism.

Peanut butter dissolves chewing gum. It is a classic for getting gum out of kids hair.

The dog poo incident occurred during the Bush administration. So I guess it's Bush's fault?

Peanut butter is for club crackers. If full comfort food is required, load onto graham crackers and quaff a pint of milk.

I didn't mean to imply that Trump is directly at fault for the gum or poo incidents. (I would have thought that much was obvious.) I simply wanted to point out then when our "leaders" do things like Trump did with that retweet about the relative beauty of his and Cruz's wives, it only emboldens the minions in society to say and do whatever they want with impunity. With people like Trump on the news and leading in the polls, it just can't surprise any of us that the minions are doing things like putting gum on strangers' cars. Maybe that's called "trickle down irresponsibility".

Perhaps that connection is too tenuous but with each passing day - particularly during this election cycle - I get more and more worried that our leaders are failing to set good examples and so I think these gum and poo style incidents are symptomatic of a leadership vacuum and will only be increasing in frequency. Lead by example, people. It's the least we can do.
