all of those pieces are really nice, none of mine is that old and only one is signed. The Walrus is signed Peter somebody from King Island, can't read the date. The kayak guy isn't signed or dated but when I bought it the people told me mid 70s. Who knows. The little whale, no date or name and the little box I doubt was Inuit, probably traded with someone from a ship, no name or date. When I bought this it wasn't expensive and I gave a lot of pieces to friends when I got back.

Great pieces Hugh.
This sits on the bottom shelf in one our meeting rooms. It's very large and unappreciated. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1468855950.jpg |

Just bought this gem from Joe Bob's friend couldn't be happier. We did the deal in Anaheim while I'm here for a conference. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1476833108.jpg |
That kayak reminds me of the film "Paddle to the Sea". I saw it in gradeschool, and now it's on YouTube. Shared it with my three kids recently.

Wow! I remember that film like I saw it yesterday. We must have seen it a couple of times in elementary school for me to remember it so well. I was even inspired enough to carve a little boat of my own, meaning to put it in the Mississippi, but I couldn't part with it so I just played with it until it eventually fell apart. I'm going to settle in with a glass of wine and watch it again.
BTW, the artwork on this thread is incredible. |
My parents are from Vancouver Island and my Mom picked up most of these items in the 1950's and 60's for next to nothing, like $50 each.

I picked up a Cape Dorset print "Midnight Owl" today:

I have a few other pieces besides what Hugh bought. If it's ok with him I can post pics,,,,,

Go for it
