Mi-Grid Hybrid Energy System

A 10-kWh solar storage battery was announced here in Australia today - Its a different technology and maybe this has the chemistry required .

Redflow launches 10kWh “ZCell” into Australian home battery storage market.

“ZCell breaks many of the rules that apply to legacy batteries, making it ideal for the home market,”

“ZCell lets you discharge 100 per cent of its total stored energy every day, whereas other battery types can require a significant amount of their underlying storage capacity to be locked out to prevent battery damage and to extend battery life. ZCell is a unique flow battery that loves to be fully charged and discharged daily.”

The Australian company is playing hard on its durability, emphasising the fact that ZCell is “warranted to deliver its full 10kWh of stored energy each day for as long as 10 years.” During that period, it says, rival lead acid and lithium batteries can lose a significant portion of their storage capacity.

Redflow launches 10kWh

Hmmm - I should snap-up some shares???

Remove 10% GST, and convert to USD, $12,000. For 10kWh.

Retail for 10kWh usable (50% depth of discharge), of Nano Carbon. ~$4500.

Retail for 9.6kWh of Lifepo4 is around $12,000.

No shock, a good 1/2 of everything that Musk says and does is smoke and mirrors.

Yeah, but the world is built on/around such smoke today.

And funded with taxpayer money.

But the fanboys think he really can do all the things he claims.

Does it come with rich, Corinthian leather?

Over 1,000 line up at Park Meadows for new Tesla Model 3 | FOX31 Denver

This is nuts. ^^^^^

You will never ever see me stand in line for the honor of putting down a deposit for the "right" of buying any product that is not yet made and will not be available for a year.

People put money down for the Tesla Powerwall 10kW. I also just found that the 7kW Powerwall is really 6.4kWh. It also has a maximum draw of 2kW. You need multiple units just have enough power to do, well, anything.

A Mi-Grid 2000 compares to about 4 Powerwall units. Powerwall is JUST a battery pack. You need to buy inverters, transfer switches, ,etc. AND THEN you have to have an electrician design the system to install it into your house. And a plumber to hook up the cooling water. Yes, cooling water.

A Mi-Grid 2000, complete with 8kW of solar, installed, will run roughly $45K (including a backup generator), depending on how much the solar installer, uh, "sexes" you. A similar Powerwall system would be a minimum of $60K.

Mi-Grid has 38.4 kWh of storage with 19.2 kWh in the normal usage range. The TPW has 25.6 kWh and 23kWh in the usable range. Cycle life is similar. But in an emergency, you can use all 38.4 kWh on the Mi-Grid.

I wish I had their marketing machine!

I wish I had one of your units.
