The Warriors are fun to watch

I don't care what Charles Barkley says.

I just saw Curry hit another half-court shot at the buzzer. The league average for 3-pointers is 36%. Curry is 42% from half court, at 5 for 12.

And the way they all move the ball around, they're not just a one-trick pony at all. I'll say it again. They're a lot of fun to watch.

Agreed. However, the Michael Jordan led Bulls would wipe the floor with them...

When has anyone EVER given a crap about what Barkley says, and I'm pretty sure that MJ and the Bulls in their prime would give most of the great teams I've seen over the years fits . Been a b-ball fan most of my life, I like Curry too, but the game has gotten "soft" IMO....maybe I'm just an old fart. Lebron don't play when it's 90 degrees and hot...a good clean hard foul from the 80's will get you ejected these daze, and MJ was one tough competitor...better in talent and mental toughness than the current stars IMO. Pampered they be

The Bulls, Lakers, Celtics, Pistons, etc. from daze gone by were awesome...

I agree with this - the are re-defining how the game is played.

It's true that the game is not as rough as it used to be. That's due to some rule changes and the fact that they're making too much money to take risks. But I think the Warriors brand of basketball is great entertainment. Finesse can be just as entertaining as brute force. The Warriors are first in the NBA in assists. They have 33 games with 30 or more assists. The second place team has 13 games with 30 or more assists. That makes them pretty unique in the NBA.

As for the Bulls, the games would likely be close. Someone did a metric analysis and concluded that the Bulls would win a game by 1 point. Of course, that's pure conjecture. But it's all we have.

i think they are playing the basics. exactly how the game was defined back in the day..when there was not one superstar they tossed the ball to. the way they move the ball around unselfishly..and everyone having skills.

Disclaimer..i am not a b-ball super fan..but being here, i kinda watch. ^^ just an observation. but i did watch the movie Hoosiers twice.

I am an Oakland native and it just feels...surreal to have such a dominant force in Bay Area sports. I am an A's and Raiders fan, and didn't get to live through any of their peaks. I was too young to appreciate the bash bros era, the magical playoff run in 02 was just too small a taste, and after the Raiders got trashed in the Superbowl, Oakland sports was content to crawl in a hole to die.

Then there was the "We Believe" season and I've been HOOKED on NBA ball since. To watch the the rise of both the league and the Dubs has been truly special. Steph Curry especially. He would have 20sec spurts of the magic we now see early on in his career, but nobody could have guessed this is where he and the team would go.

The league has also had great success, particularly internationally and I strongly believe that Adam Silver's legacy will be defined by how he took the game into the popularity realms of soccer. There's talk of adding a team in Mexico City where the league would immediately add 30mil fans as it stands.

Guess that was a bit of a rant. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm in love with the CoCo.

Totally agree. They pass the ball well. They shoot the ball well. They play well as a team! What a unique concept!

To be clear, I won't watch an NBA game until the playoffs, so I'm going on pure conjecture here....but there has been NO mention of defense in this thread, and that's what separates the great teams/players I've observed over the years. I love to watch great team b-ball, so I'd enjoy watching GS play I'm sure. I'm still inclined to think that MJ or DJ (Celtics), who were also GREAT defensive players would take it as a personal challenge and give Steph quite a wake up call...just my 02 worth

I watched Curry play in college...don't get me wrong, I think he's great

It's a moot comparison, as hand checking was allowed and there was no defensive 3 second violation. The game was much different then as it is now. I honestly think it would much closer than one would think. Sure, MJ would tear any team in any era a new hole, but remember what the Pistons did to him in 89. Winning in this sport is predicated on having a fundamentally strong team, and the it's really up in the air as to who is stronger. The Dubs are still writing out their history for this season.

I'll put it to you like this, in a regular season game I would pick the Warriors to win. In a 7 game series, I've got to say the slight edge belongs with the Bulls.

Also, why are you NOT watching regular season games? Warriors games are must see TV. No hyperbole. The first of 2 Thunder-Warriors game last month was end to end action. Basketball isn't supposed to be this engrossing in the dog days of the season. Hell, even the All Star dunk contest and 3 pt contest were one for the ages.

It is, and I'm sorry for derailing this thread about GS
Though I haven't seen them play, due to Curry's local ties, I have seen a few highlights on the local news however and I think it's fantastic

No worries, I'm just happy to know there are NBA fans with Porsches. I started an NBA discussion thread here in OT but it failed miserably.

This is what you missed out on. Thunder go into the game guns blazing, Warriors offense is a bit stagnant. With Varejao out on the floor, swinging the ball inside out or end to end wasn't as smooth as could be. Into the second quarter, Curry gets hurt and leaves the game. Going into the half time there are reports of Draymond Green screaming at the whole team. The second half was one for the ages. I was at a baby shower watching this live and it was 8PM near the end of the game so all the babies present were sound asleep. My brother screamed like little girls at the end of OT and woke them all up. Parents were not pleased...

The Dubs are a very good defensive team. Many times they've won in the 4th quarter by shutting down the opponent, when their shooting went cold. And Green came in second last year in voting for top defensive player.

Did I mention they're fun to watch? Check out Klay's 37 in a quarter. I watched it on live TV and got my daughter to stop doing her homework and get downstairs once he got past about 25 points. We were going nuts.

The fact that I was a no-jumping white boy with modest skills had little to do with it...and that's my story

The Dubs??? 'Splain it to me Lucy...

The Dubs. The word Warriors starts with a "W". Short for Double-U's.

BTW, the last time The Dubs played in NC, the whole crowd was cheering on their home boy, Steph. It was like a home game.

Most arenas are like that this year actually. I was at Staples for an early season Clippers game and every time Steph made a shot, the crowd exploded.

It's crazy to think people physically relate to Steph Curry the most, but then he does the most outlandish things with the basketball anyone's ever seen.

I concur-- they are fun to watch. I have been watching NBA basketball since the 60's. I watched the local team win the championship with the big O and Lew Alcinder.

One of my high school classmates was Oscar's daughter.

In the late 80's I'd go to about 10 games a year with my wife.

I got less interested about 10 years ago, only watching big matchups and some playoff games.

This GS thing is infectious and now I try to record most games and watch in the hopes of being amazed. What I like the most is the apparent level of teamwork. I hope that is inspiring to young athletes.

Be aware... GS owner Joe Lacob is a Porsche owner. Perhaps more than 1. He was at RR V, driving a 908 that he owns. Not sure what kind of person he is, but you can see him interviewed during the RRV TV show. I hear his wife is a nice person-- she was a client of my wife.
