I've watched that video dozens of times. I show it to people whenever I hear the old "they don't make 'em like they used to" line, or "pfff, safety items just weigh the car down" BS.

Now in 993 land ...

I have seen that on here and posted it several times during discussions such as Christien mentions. It has me cringe thinking that I daily drove some pretty old iron like that, lap belts and all, in the past.

My first car was a 59 Chevy just like that one. Bought it for $45 in 1970. Scary indeed.

What about the recent 356 Speedster accident in which someone under the influence broadsided the 356 and killed one passenger and severely injured the driver? That really made me think about the safety on my car.

At last old 911s have an articulated steering column and a lot of crush zone up front with no engine there... |
