I can't figure out who sent me this. $ gift
A Garmin RV 760 LMT GPS, came from Amazon as a gift. $317. No note, not my wife, not my son or daughter, my bday was in January and Father's Day isn't until June. Strange. It came from Amazon and their tracking doesn't say who it came from.

So Garmin figures you get lost so often you deserve a free GPS?

It's from a nasty neighbor that doesn't like seeing your RV in the area. They're sending a message to take the RV and leave town.

Hugh,
Seriously, check your credit card to see if it got charged; I had my identity stolen a few years back and the thiefs used it to buy lots of odd stuff and had it sent to my house, I happened to be home, so they couldn't pick it off the porch- I wasn't smart enough to stake it out or call the cops to try and catch the people, I was freaking out and calling my credit union etc. and it didn't cross my mind until later. I think if they use your card and send it to your house, no "flags" get raised and they just nab it off your porch before you get home. Rutager

Did that come in the mailbox, or was it delivered by UPS/FedEx. If the latter, they would have the tracking info as to when it showed up at your door. By finding it too quickly, you thwarted thier plan to swipe it, but no skin off thier azz, they didn't pay for it.

Turns out it did come from my daughter, I'm watching the six month old and 2-1/2 year old grandsons this weekend while they go to the Coachella Music Festival this weekend. They flew in from NYC to visit us and go to the festival for the weekend.
I don't need it, as my iPhone works fine as a map. However, it does have a few features that I do like, including a Bluetooth for the phone and nice info, like height of awnings at gas stations and ease of pulling in and out with an RV. |

A real GPS is real handy for road trips. My iPhone works great in in the city but in areas where there is no cell signal the background map may or may NOT work.
When I was in Monterey, CA recently I had a blast running Laguna Seca all day. I stuffed all the luggage back in my car and then realized I had packed my GPS in some bag somewhere. I whipped out my cell phone and since I had made my hotel a contact I just told it to take me there. Siri took me to a nice neighborhood and a nice house but it was no hotel. I even googled the hotel name and the address and my iPhone said I was there. I drove to a parking lot and went digging for the GPS. I plugged it in and it took me a couple of miles right to the door of my hotel. Thank you Garmin. I have no idea why the iPhone was totally off course.

That is what I was also thinking, when I drove from SoCal to Boise at Thanksgiving I had long distances with no cell service, so a backup device is handy when RVing.
