Just watched the video up there with Axle singing. Not liking it. I thought it might work. It doesn't, at least not for me.

We saw Journey (apples and oranges I know) in Las Vegas with the new kid... I was skeptical but he was farking amazing!

I wish all the best for Brian but there are singers out there.

I DVRed the AC/DC concert off cable... great show and everything seemed fine but I don't know how old that concert is/was.

I'm betting they went with Axle because of all the media coverage he brings... but IMHO they don't need to bring in a big name (and all the associated baggage)

I've seen AC/DC live with both Bon and Brian. The most high energy shows I've witnessed and the professionalism and showmanship was top notch. AC/DC is not just a band but a brand and a business. Axl needs to adjust his attitude accordingly, as Angus has shown, he doesn't mind giving someone the heave ho, lots of singers would kill for a chance to front the band.

Yes, it's a business.

But when someone has been an integral part of your businesses success for 36 of it's 42 years.............

Plenty of bands have replaced members for a variety of reasons.

Others have hung in there, even when a member losses an arm and needs time to learn how to drum with his feet.

Listening to Axle sing is about as much fun as having you colon cleaned with a dry corn cob. I cannot stand his whiny voice or attitude. GnR had good songs that were ruined with that voice.

He sounds like Katherine Hepburn in "On Golden Pond" on acid.

Saw them this past July in Dublin. Incredible show. Malcolm was already out due to his illness, but the cousin who replaced him played just fine-(and even looked like Malcolm)--Angus went full-out non-stop, and Brian sounded great.

It was their first time playing Dublin in awhile and the crowd was rocking--within 15 minutes of the start, the vendors ran out of every beer except Guinness.

Hearing that Brian is now out is a real shame, and I have no desire to see them again without Malcolm and now Brian.

They should have had one final blow-out playing limited dates (when Brian was able) and gone out on top.

AC/DC with Axl is like "Guns N Roses" without Slash, Duff, and Izzy(and Alder or Sorum), a pale imposter cashing in on the name.

I understand how they want to fulfill their business obligations and complete the tour,

but IMO this is going to make it a really terrible way to go out.

Look on the bright side, at least they didn't hire David Lee Roth.

I'm petty sure Ethel Merman did a voice over on "Where do we go now"

Ah yes, the man whose jock strap is pulled so tight he could floss from inside his mouth.

From all the youtube footage I've seen of this current GnR "reunion" tour, Axl has mellowed considerably. I've yet to see any rants and usual behavior associated with him. He's been all smiles and even used the term "lovely" at Coachella, lol. He has lost some of the power of his voice but I can tell he is trying hard and isn't phoning it in. I have no doubt that he will toe the line if he wants to play with Angus and co.

He may be back on his meds.

He was diagnosed bi polar decades ago and allegedly a lot of his disruptive nature was his refusal to medicate.

From Brian Johnson himself, on deciding to hang it up...

Brian Johnson explains bowing out of AC/DC tour - CNN.com

""On March 7th, after a series of examinations by leading physicians in the field of hearing loss, I was advised that if I continue to perform at large venues, I risked total deafness," Johnson said in a statement. "While I was horrified at the reality of the news that day, I had for a time become aware that my partial hearing loss was beginning to interfere with my performance on stage."
Johnson, who joined AC/DC in 1980 after the death of original singer Bon Scott, said he was having trouble hearing the guitars and other musicians on stage.
AC/DC reschedules shows to save lead singer's hearing
"Our fans deserve my performance to be at the highest level, and if for any reason I can't deliver that level of performance I will not disappoint our fans or embarrass the other members of AC/DC," Johnson said. "I am not a quitter and I like to finish what I start, nevertheless, the doctors made it clear to me and my bandmates that I had no choice but to stop performing on stage for the remaining shows and possibly beyond." "

This topic has been swirling around the guitar sites too. Some say... hearing thing is an excuse. He's getting older and can't do the back to back shows anymore. 2-3 max per week. That's too costly when they've got a big crew out on the road to let them sit idle 4-5 nites per week. I guess Axl has better wheels... Brian's said to be a stand up guy, so he's not whining to the press or anything. Maybe he'll step in for studio work - we'll see. It's business...

AC DC needs to get George from Rhino Bucket. Bon Scott all day. I wish Brian the best, he did a hell of a job. Don't like how they kicked him to the curb though. All those years.... to change over night?

Just found out yesterday that our local Bon Scott-era tribute is getting back together. This guy nails Bon Scott to a tee. He would be perfect. Angus, if you're reading this, PM me and I'll put you in touch. This guy would crush Axl.
