I don't know about "world's greatest", but Badfish (Sublime cover/tribute band) have always been fun to see. Also have enjoyed the following:
Who's Bad: Michael Jackson Zoso: Led Zeppelin Abbey Road: The Beatles Slippery When Wet: Bon Jovi Again, all fun times, but not sure about "world's greatest" status.

That Floyd tribute last night was great, but sheesh, they had nine or 10 people on stage. What music can't you recreate with that?

They were great until Ralph left. I think Fan Halen might be better now. My VH tribute has a gig tomorrow. Gotta go practice.

With all respect, I always felt Heart was the greatest Zeppelin tribute band

I will do it once, just to cross that place off my bucket list. More likely gonna end up at Paladino's in Tarzana for what it cost us to go out there.

I don't think these guys are a tribute, but this is about as difficult as it gets and they crush it.

The Philippines.
I spent a lot of time there in the 1980's. In Subic there were cover bands catering to every genre of music, from C&W to Heavy Metal, in the bars lining the main drag. Honestly, they were near perfect covers. Incredible stuff. This video brings back a lot of memories.

Another one comes to mind: Cosmic Charlie, which I think is a Gratful Dead tribute band.

Rain is the only cover band I have seen. They do The Beatles very well.
