2001 XTerra Switch Identification Assistance, Please?
A friend of mine picked up an older XTerra a few months ago. In the dashboard, located just above the parking brake handle is a switch that he has no idea what it does. It's not identified in his owner's manual, which leads me to believe it's probably some kind of after market thing. Anyone have any ideas what it might be?
A few things we've determined that it is NOT are: 1. Floodlight Switch 2. Cruise Control Switch 3. Overdrive Switch 4. Rear Wiper/Squirt Control 5. Flux Capacitor Controller 6. Ejection Seat trigger for back-seat drivers ![]() ![]() For what it's worth, one of the two buttons has an "Atom" symbol on it, similar to the image below. ![]() Randy

Anything look off under the hood? What about under the rear end of the car?
Look under the dash, what's it hooked to? |

My guess would be the po hard wired his garage door opener but that would only be a monetary on off switch. I installed something like that but hid it under the dash

My friend, Mike, is actually out in San Diego. He's not a member here, but I've provided him with a link to this thread. I've shared your questions with him and will post back when he replies.
Thanks, all! Randy
