"pop-up stopper" and "pop-up blocker" do not stop the Pelican pop-backs on my browser . . .. what's up with that?

Yeah, ain't it great!? The complexity of the system(s) is growing exponentially.

By having single session "pops" the populus of pelican posters need to have cookies enabled.. . .which leads to a security problem, which leads to a security fix, which leads to a different security problem, which leads to a yet another different security fix. . .and so on.

If Wayne was nice enough to contain his ad's to the page of interest, we wouldn't have to waste our collective time dealing with work-arounds (and prob's assoc)

Oh well; Wayne does own the ball, .

This is directed to the guy with the Mozilla advise. I use Mozilla on a Linux box. I cannot find this disable auto open spot you are talking about. I would not mind the closing of the annoying popup once a day. But it happens several times a day. Sort of like spam and those who fight spam. A good way to fight spam is to boycott the support of those who spam. I would rather not have to deal with the spam I get from PP than boycott the site or the purchases I make from PP.

So - if someone knows where I have to go in Mozilla for Linux please help. I will not boycott PP. It is THE BEST 911 BBS in existence. HEY THIS IS IMPORTANT - I have a rennlist email address and for 911 stuff I hang here!

wdarner, just go to edit -> preferences, and select Advanced -> Scripts & Plugins. In the list of things to allow scripts to do, UNCHECK "Open Unrequested Windows".

This disables popups, essentially.

I solved the problem! I found a nook and cranny in my Mozilla configuration where I was able to successfully stop the popups!
