Yes, it is fascinating look at another time.
I saw a few years ago then it disappeared. I heard they put a camera on the front of a trolley car and then went down the street like normal. Cool to see the horse-drawn wagons, pedestrians, and cars all going down the street. Looks like there were a lot of close calls. Craig

Less than one month later: (see the video at the bottom of the page)
Compare footage of San Francisco before and after the 1906 earthquake

The concept of road safety had obviously not entered the heads of the San Franciscans. Driving on the wrong side of the road, cutting between trams, walking about in the middle of the road, pulling out without looking behind, its all there. Surprised anyone on that street survived long enough to become an earthquake victim.

i drove a Hilux in Cambodia when our driver had too much to drink. i wasnt pissed at all because i got to drive his new diesel toyota Hilux. cambodia is the wild west of traffic. i went thru a construction zone so rugged i almost considered throwing it into 4x4..they were moving bags of conc with a water buffalo.. no cones, no traffic control, i just meandered thru the jobsite following a bus.
