Everything sells eventually........it's just a matter of time and price.

It certainly detracts from value when a vehicle is stored for 6 months during winter in a warm garage.

I get a kick out of opinions that Canada is all snow and ice, LOL. :D

Hmm.......Vancouver, Kelowna, Victoria never get snow and therefore there is no salt and people drive all year.

Will be 33-37 Celsius here in the next few days.........Porsche weather.

Remember to put on your red cap if you open the moon/sunroof! Nobody likes a burned head SmileWavy

+ the pic from your ad taken from birds view is very nice. Awesome color!

Here is a positive input: You are all honest, so whoever buys your car will likely to have an unpleasant surprise.

As far as the car is concerned, not a popular color nor a striking one, Canada, high miles, and accident history will push a lot of people away.

But, me, I dig it.

Some thoughts on your ad

Quote:

Nothing major on Carfax/CarProof, ICBC shows repairs under $2000.-
Minor damage/scratch on front bumper and broken headlight repaired with insurance claim.
I removed front bumper and had it repainted, very nice paint job.
Cleaned up stuff and components in front while the bumper was off. Left headlight is new.
This sounds confusing at best and at worst dismissive of the damage. Have a picture of the affected area ?

Quote:

Didn't drive it last year.......other interests.
Why mention this at all ?

Cool color and nice pics.

Unpleasant surprise??
Love the "Armchair Experts". Think positive and have a thorough inspection done before buying.

Most people always like the color; lots of compliments.
Canada? Oh yeah, the polar Country, always under snow and ice. :D
Accident history? A surface scratch from a trailer hitch on top of the front bumper approximately 2 inches really is an accident.
High miles? If a 6 cylinder Porsche boxer engine cannot take 90,000 miles, buy a Volvo or Subaru.

More "Long-Distance Assessments", please, it's entertaining. :D

The "damage" was a surface scratch from a trailer hitch......on top of the front bumper, not even 1 mm deep.......nothing to see of the affected area because it was professionally treated and repainted........very clean, like new.

I'll add a picture of the bumper.

Why mention not driving last year? Because "Other Interests" is the reason for sale and not because of the 2-inch scratch on the front bumper, LOL.

This is a lot clearer to me.

Because it brings up the question as to why. Is there something else wrong with it ? etc etc

Speaking of which, did you actually not drive it at all last year ?!?

Here's the name of the thread you started:
? 993 C2 1995 Value question

If you didn't want assessments or don't like the answers, you should not have asked.
I am very familiar with Canada, and have many Canadian friends.
You are unlike any of them up there that I know. Arrogant and dismissive they are not. Good luck selling the car with those attitudes. You're right about one thing though; they all sell, it's just a matter of price and time.

SkunkWorks 06-06-2016 02:41 PM

You should list this up on BAT.

With your attitude the commentary on there will be very entert-, er, valuable.

:)

Eh.

shaunmbenson 06-06-2016 08:19 PM

Gunter I dig your car and were I in the market I'd PM you on it immediately.

I'd say 60-65k Canadian asking price - and I think with potential buyers you would do well to heed some of the critique coming your way - don't be defensive or consider yourself smarter than the people asking legitimate questions - your car will sell quicker that way.

Good luck and close out the thread by letting us know what it sells for

Have a feeling we're dealing with a real German in Canada here guys.

impactbumper 06-07-2016 08:23 AM

he called me an armchair expert. If only he knew.... :D

Well, this is the last line of his signature:

I suppose we all should've read that one before responding to the thread.

True, no drive last year.......other interests.......just start up occasionally and roll it out of the garage for a wash and treat the leather seats.

Many thanks for the actual constructive contributions.

As for the off-topic comments, predictions, judgements and some of the usual blah, blah, blah......chill out....time will tell.

Cheers from icy Canada. SmileWavy

Good point, Nick........sometimes I even get angry emails from folks who don't like freedom of speech and think that the only way is a gun in one hand and a Bible in the other........reality? It's a wonderful world. SmileWavy

Always manually override the automatic spoiler function to vent/cool the engine after driving.....This one is on the way from Torrey, UT, (Capitol Reef National Park) to Bryce Canyon. A fantastic curvy climb to about 10,000 feet elevation. Some of you know this road.......made for Porsche.

Have a feeling we're dealing with an opinionated and under-educated LAX resident with illusions. :(

You missed it by about 5000 miles.......try Madagascar. Oh, those Germans.......they make good cars though. :)

This amg463 sent me several PM's offering CAD 60,000.00 right now.......money in your hands right away! "I'm going away for 3 weeks and "I want the car in my garage when I come back"

He lists as location: LAX.......(Los Angeles?) more than 2000 km from where the car is. No mention of how this cross-border fantasy-transaction would go down.?? Bring a suitcase full of cash? Load the car on a trailer and just drive across the border? Please,

No wonder I get sarcastic about some of the nuts and morons that usually respond with BS when threads are posted.

Again: To some of you who gave positive and constructive answers: MANY THANKS. SmileWavy

The others........a quote from Rett Butler: I apologise for all you shortcomings. :p
