another lawsuit. AC hoses
I took all my AC hoses for my 930 to a local shop to have new ones made back at the end of LAST summer. told him I was not in a hurry. it took a while but he made all but one. 5 hoses total. said he was looking for an end for it. took the others home and all were wrong except one. took them back to have them made again. about January I had enough of the excuses. told him I wanted them in a week. at this time he tells me he threw them away!! then said maybe he can find them. next story I get is he cut them up and not sure about the clocking of the ends. reluctantly I say I will work with him to get them right.
so yesterday I stop to get the hoses and he brings out 3 hoses. I say where is the 4th. I get the dumb dog watching TV look. then I ask for my old hoses back. he brings out hoses that are not mine. in fact, one was cut in half and had an R134 fitting on it. I tell him none of those are my hoses. again, the dumb dog look. one is about twice the diameter of what it should be and way too long. must have been 15 ft at least. the short version of the rest of the conversation: I tell him since he can not make my hoses and can not return my original hoses so someone else can make me a set I will go buy a set on line and he can reimburse me and he can keep the 150 I already paid him. he says no, I say lets go to court and he says OK. I have one hose that goes to the compressor that I had an R134 fitting put on. he was suppose to do the same for the other compressor hose. I also have one that he gave me yesterday but do not know if it is correct. I don't want to use the one with the R134 fitting now because the ones I buy will not match it. I have also already paid for these hoses but was just going to get a complete set from Griffiths. I am really disappointed this did not work out. I have other work for him but cant use him now and I am not sure if anyone else in town does this. I was also looking forward to the 134 fittings on the hoses.

Wow. I took the two rubber AC hoses off of my Chevy El Camino to a local shop and they rebuilt them in 10 minutes while I waited. I had cut the crimps with my Dremel for them so all they had to do was pay attention to the clocking and replace the 30 year old rubber that sits right over the engine.
Sorry for your problems. Sometimes I guess it is just easier to buy the correct hoses from Griffiths and be done.

I hate to tell you this, but if it's small shop, they didn't have the hose to turn it quick, and forgot about it. The hose guy, he'll do the easier ones first, every time.
What kind of plan do you have to make the a/c blow really cold on that 930?

the guy is a hose specialist and everyone goes to him. I have been here since 92 and he was here before I moved here.
I was talking to a guy that was working on our hydraulic lift about him. he said he is good but when I told him I said I was not in a hurry he said that was a bad thing. said he has plenty of money and not in a hurry to get things done. when I went in his shop it was a mess, hoses EVERY WHERE, including mine. I remember seeing one of mine on the ground and thinking I should get it. this was early on. the hose guy reminds me of eeyore from Winnie the pooh if that helps.
