The Polar Bear is DONE i think

The 350 ish lb Marble Polar Bear got it's first coat of wax and a buff today. I didn't see any scratches but will check it good tomorrow before it's next coat. Most people won't see any difference from the last pictures because all of the changes are small. Little dimples, scratches and such that keep popping up somehow.
Anyway, this is it. Finally after a year. I won't be making something this big again unless it is a commission. I don't know where or how to move it. Most galleries don't want something this heavy. One guy in Laguna Beach said I could put it there but I haven't talked to him for a month or so. We will see.

That just blows my mind...how you get marble shaped and as smooth as glass just blows my mind.

You need to move this thread to the Technical Forum so that we can have a meaningful discussion of the best wax to use on a polar bear sculpture.

Probably Griots.

I am using some stuff called Renaissance.

We went to Greenville two years ago to visit friends and actually look for a place to buy. I loved Greenville, we found a three acre home with a one acre pond with a small feeder pond. A large steel out building that the guy had six cars, a lift, a tractor and a huge lawnmower in. As it turned out my wife didn't want to make the move.

Greenville isn't a bad place. Relatively low taxes. Good mix of rural and metro areas. Mild winters, humid summers. I've been here 16 years, and in the general area most of my life.

Sea World, LA Zoo? Someplace that has polar bears that people can visit - they might be interested.

So just out of curiosity, how much would you let it go for, considering that buyer will pay for shipping and insurance? (No, I'm not buying it. )

I like it. It's nice. Makes a statement. Can't be stolen easily.

From the thread title I thought Hell had frozen over and Beygon had converted to an environmentalist.

Beautiful sculpture.
