Please Analyze My Recurring Dream

There is a dream I've had several times. Details vary, but the premise is always that when I was living in Los Angeles some two decades ago, I (in my dream) acquired some exotic cars that I left parked in a garage or warehouse or parking structure somewhere, and forgot about. In the dream I'm trying to find them. One time the cars were Porsches, I think there was a 935 and a 959. Last night they were two Ferraris, a 512 BB and a 1970s F1 car. Sometimes I find them, sometimes I don't.

What's your dream analysis?. I assume the dream is not really about cars.

(I did actually live in L.A. for about a decade back then, but didn't have any exotic cars. I knew people with somewhat interesting cars and was going to the Monterey Historics every year. To the best of my knowledge, I don't actually have a 512BBi languishing in a parking structure somewhere.)

I think it means you left the water running outside in the rose garden.

The cars represent lost idealism, dreams of youth and vitality, symbols of hope.

You can't find them now because you are hopelessly old and washed up, unable to give or receive pleasure, half a man really...in search of a past you will never find.

Feel better:)

The cars are women, you have so many women you can't remember when or where you last did them.

No, that's the dream that ends with a rush to pee.

I'm not going to pay your consultation fee.

This reeks of homoerotic tendencies...

naw-
It boils down to this.
(please excuse my bad understanding of the brain- and someone correct me if I am wrong)
Your brain is a gateway. It receives a huge amount of information all day long and has to process what is important, what isn't, and what to do about it. The gateway portion of the brain needs to shut down to rest. If it can't (like sleep deprivation torture sessions), you go insane.
In REM sleep, you are still having random thoughts, etc, but the part of your brain that processes it rationally has checked out... so basically..
You like cars. In your dream you acquire some. You store them somewhere, but then you forget where, so then your fear that you have misplaced them takes over.

The rational part of your brain that says "Oh yeah, I have a 4 bay garage and don't even need to store them" is turned off.

That's all it is...

Oh yeah... and you like men :D:D:D:D

I don't care how old and washed up you are - that right there is comedy gold!! :D

Freud would say you have latent sexual problems.
Atheists say you are looking for God but there is no God.
Christians say you are looking for God and need to accept Jesus as Savior.
Al Gore says you are feeling guilty about driving cars instead of using mass transit.
Bernie Sanders says you need to pay more taxes to pay for other people's cars.

Pick one.

Was Christie Brinkley in the Ferrari BB? I think it means you just like unobtainable boobs.

vash 06-15-2016 03:58 PM

i think the dream is actually about cars.

Actually, it's really about your subconscious telling you that you aren't cut out to own nice cars, as you will inevitably end up forgetting about them and/or losing them. So, it means that in order to restore balance to your universe and cleanse your soul, you have to sell me that `89 911 coupe for $1. Sorry, I don't make the rules. :D

It is a typical desperate dream, where the very desireable prize is right in front of you but you are somehow completely paralyzed or handicapped and can't close the deal. Usually this is a sexual dream, but since you are old ...

But seriously, I have similar dreams. I.e. a hunting situations where a big buck, bear, pig etc. steps out and I have my rifle but the wrong caliber ammo etc.

There must be info you can search on google for these type of disappointment dreams. I don't believe in deeper dream meanings, so l think it isn't worth dwelling on it ...

 remind me not to tell you about my reoccurring dream about trying to ride a huge wet noodle, loosing all my hair and being scorned by a whole bunch of cats!

Just buy an E28 BMW already and all those dreams will go away.

dad911 06-15-2016 05:42 PM

Not often, or lately, but I've had a similar recurring dream that my first two cars (fiat and challenger) are still stored in my parents garage......

Sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar.

I think it's your cue to stop eating Garlic and Jalapenos prior to bed time. :D

Dreams are like everything else in life, "you win some, you lose some, some get rained out".
