need some advice...stay off my lawn related

So about a year ago the house next door received the next batch of rental tenants. For the most part they stay to themselves but for the past few months one of their kids and other neighborhood kids have been playing in our front yard. Sometimes hitting the house with a soccer ball. My guess is the kids range in age of 10 - 14 . I have asked the kids many many times to not play in our yard. That pretty much gets ignored. As I am typing this there are about 5-6 of them playing football and lighting firecrackers 30 ' from our house. Have asked them twice tonight to move along no dice. Next door neighbors father is a screamer I hear him yelling at the kid all the time. I really don't want to call the cops but talking to the parents I think will be a waste of time . I just want to enjoy the peace and quiet of my home is that asking too much ?
They have their own front yard and a fenced in back yard maybe if they mowed the one foot tall grass the kids would play there

Take off your shirt and oil yourself up. Then go out front and tell them you want to play too. Tell them afterwards they can all come over for a sleepover. That should do it.

decorative gardening that makes it difficult or un-fun to play in your yard.

Of course, if you wanted peace and quiet you shouldn't have moved to where you have neighbors.

LOL you have great restraint. I'd go out there and tell them it's my ball now, and probably blow a hole in it with my shotgun. Either that, or I'd start putting nude Greek statutes in the yard with boobs and peckers to weird out the parents.

No, and I'd bet you could find a city/county/state ordinance and/or statute in the GA Landlord Tenant Act regarding the "right to quiet enjoyment" of one's property. If the tenant routinely violates that right, I'd contact the owner/landlord if talking with the tenant directly doesn't net any results. YMMV... Now get off my lawn!

Not to mention the fact that if one of the little wankers gets hurt on your property, they could sue.

I guess these are out of the question?

And then just a WTF, when I did the first search for "punji sticks" this was one of the results.

Clearly a trap, and if you can get her to walk through the area and then go on walkabout, they may follow her out like a pied piper.

Brilliant, even better if there's a sprinkler system.

As hot as it is right now you'll just draw in more kids with a sprinkler!

Only if you connect it to the cold water....

Damn... I was just telling my wife how when I was a kid we used to play games in everyone's yards and drink from their hoses in the summer. Often till 11 at night, all the while making a lot of noise. Guess things have really changed.

Timely.

My next door neighbors kids are all on little league / baseball teams. He has 3 boys ranging in age 5-10 ish plus all their friends over every day.

It's like living next door to Wrigley Field.

He even put flood lights on his chimney so they could have night games.

They seem to have an endless supply of balls.

I go out every day and toss at least a half dozen back over the fence.

We have adjoining gates so walking around is far easier than climbing our 8 ft fences yet it seems every time I look out the window there's a coupla few kids climbing over.

Of course when they climb they end up kicking the slats which come loose.

Once a week I go out there and nail them back in.

A bit breezy today and as I looked out my patios doors there were a dozen slats flapping in the breeze.

Took a pic, sent it to him, told him me nailing back in is not working anymore.

He apologized, said he'd take care of it.

Told him no worries, kids need to play.

Personally it gets rather annoying at times hearing all the screaming, hordes of children traipsing through my yard all day and chaos that comes with it but truth be told, bored kids mean trouble.

If this is the worst of it I can deal.

It is what it is.

Still, I can sympathize with the OP.

Helps if you have good neighbors.

These things are great, and the enforcer is a good brand. Problem is kids might enjoy playing in the water. I use coyote urine to keep deer away, maybe some roadkill carcasses would do the same for kids.

Remember, kids are barely accountable to the law, you will be held completely to it, any nastiness on your part will result in your house and cars getting vandalized in many cases.

Maybe figure out a way to get his lawn mowed so that the kids play there instead, although anyone that has kids of that age and doesn't have them mowing the lawn is raising them poorly, but you know that already.

Good luck and play it smart.
