Summer beer 2025

Hot day, perfect beer day. Found this Equilibrium double IPA a week ago, been waiting patiently. Hazy, 8% alcohol, TASTY! There's something about it, it's elegant and reserved, but a little sweet with a lot of fruit, FULL OF FLAVOR, and you can down it fast because you just want to keep drinking. Will be drinking a lot of this next few months.

Looks great! Unfortunately I like my summer beer ice-cold and taste-free.

I was going to say, when the phrase "quench my thirst" comes up, the last thing I want is an IPA. Always leaves me feeling like a cat crapped in my mouth.

I prefer a light pilsner or good old Coors regular.

Maine Beer Company has a number of really good session type beers..

Unfortunately it as rare as frogs hair here on Lawn Guyland..

Though my local distributor scores a few cases of Lunch occasionally...Dinner is elusive as ever..

Maine Beer Company

Lunch

and Heady Topper is available at Supermarket near my place in Vermont now...

I love MBC beers! My favorite by far is Mean Old Tom. But it only comes out in the Fall. And very hard to find!

^^^^ That looks interesting! I'll have to search it out, looks a bit "chewy".

Another good summer beer for me is a Good Hefe-Weizen or even a Radler.

This is my favorite, with a slice of lemon.

Unfortunately beer is high in purines, so I have to go easy with it since my gout attack last year. So I usually only drink one on hot days, when I come inside from working. My go to is just Dos Equis in a frozen mug from the freezer. I like it when it develops a bit of an ice crust on top after pouring it in the mug.

Good lord, 8% is not a summer beer...
Honestly, I'm grooving on the lager that Deschutes makes for Costco. Its only 5.4, and while lacking the flavor punch of a hoppy IPA its crazy well made, and only 13 bucks for a 12.

Looks like it’s a NY beer? I’ll keep a look out next time I’m in VA.

My beer for summer is a Kolsch that I brew. Banquet Beer is my son's go to. I agree that an IPA isn't really a thirst quencher.

This for me too unfortunately, I haven’t had an IPA in years, it sucks.

I miss the shrimp and crab more though.

That's one of the interesting things about this beer, it's 8% but drinks like apple juice.

Deschutes is around here, I'm not a lager person but hoping I can find one of their double IPAs to taste against this.

I am a "lawnmower beer" drinker on hot days. Temperature just above the freezing point and like Gogar said, taste free.

I did try Jasper Brewing Company's Crisp Pils the other day. Very nice and light 4.8% pilsner.
Cool thing about the cans is they are all the colours of the old Canadian National Park passes.
