nice looking box ,
I would suggest to remove key pictures,
as its quite possible to make duplicates from your pictures.
thus someone that you might not/ might know could be taking your machine for a test drive
EDIT photo shop can be used to change or obscure the key blade

Duly noted on the images of the keys! Hopefully Charles will delete his "quote" with my images. Thanks.

Thanks gents. My Targa is hardly theft target material, and is either securely parked way off street or seldom out of sight. Image edited nonetheless.
Cheers,

The amount of work that's put into building the box and the cost of materials, that price is cheap. That includes the engraving and finishing. It all takes time. The actual run is fast but the set up takes 3 times as long. Its a good buy guys.

I have a 1/14" shaper that has been fired up one time in the past four to five years. I stop taking those jobs. It was used to make some custom entry doors. My door fab guy was booked solid, so I had to do it myself. When I grow up, I will get back into real woodworking like you.:D

All true. The set up and jigging is extensive for even a simple project like this. The minimum quantity run that's even remotely feasible is 50 units, with optimum being a run of 150 or so. Also looking for other avenues to market, such as wristwatch case, domino piece case, etc. Here's another one I made for an upcoming silent auction that benefits children's causes here in Portland:

The benefit runs concurrently with a race weekend. Lots of fun for everyone.

Love it! I'd take one with "Porsche" or the badge, but there may be copyright issues? Great work!

Yeah, I gotta stay away from copyrighted graphics. The numerical model numbers in the correct font is about as close as I can get without risking trouble.

Very nicely done!
Hmmm... I have a catchall next to the front door where I toss my wallet/keys/cellphone. I fear if I tried to reprogram my old brain to relocate where I stash those objects it would not end well.

It would make a very nice ceegar box... if I still smoked ceegars (once or twice a year I indulge and run to the tobacconist for a fresh one).

I do still have a watch collection, it would be good storage for a few select timepieces.

How much to have 944 etched on the box?

Charles Freeborn 08-14-2016 07:23 AM

Yes , 944 will be in the lineup too. Will keep you all posted on progress - should be in the next month or so.
