Where the **&$## are my keys??!!!

Gauging interest in a handsome desk / dresser top box to hold your wallet and keys.
Script and racing stripes are laser engraved. Version shown is in Walnut. If there's ample response I'll do a run. Haven't run cost numbers yet but my seat of the pants guess is they'll come in around $125

Ooh, that's nice! Hinges look stout, joinery looks tough. Looks like a really solid box! I don't have the disposable cash for it, but I'm sure several here will. Good luck!

My keys are in my pocket unless I am in bed....then they are next to me on the nightstand. The box looks like a quality built unit, and you shouldn't have much trouble selling some.

I'd be interested.

Everyone has an opinion, though; myself included. I think you'd sell a lot more if you could get beneath the 3 digit barrier.

Maybe Charles can provide two prices, one with finish one without so the buyers can oil, lacquer or fook it up themselves . Finishing those take time. Love the joint.

I have an uploadable font that you might be interested in.

I'd trade you for advice on how to fix my favorite teak coffee tables that my friend's dog chewed up.

As far as feedback on the product, I think I'd prefer more room, say a small hallway table with a hidden drawer like one that you have to push to release.

I asked my girlfriend that same OP question.

She suggested I consult my colonoscopy guy.

Please don't send them to China to be made in order to lower the price.

Not without trimming the budget somewhere. Most likely place is to swap the solid wood top panel for a veneered one.

Nope. I pre-finish the insides and both top and bottom panels, so the finish is integral to the construction process. The corner joint is a "lock miter" which has enormous glue surface so it's exceptionally strong, but it's extremely fussy to set up the machine (shaper) to cut it accurately.

Can't say about the teak table - other than get out your glue and sander... The font I used is "Porsha". I'd be interested in a more accurate version.
I'm thinking a larger version too. This one was a sample run to try out the corner joint and to work out the engraving interface (production sequence). I'll work out one that's big enough for wallet, keys and cell phone, with a discreet slot for the phone charger cord to enter. I've done many hall tables - one of my favorite pieces too - just that's a much larger project... but maybe soon...

Never happen. Handmade here in the US of domestic materials.

Yes, will also offer other model numbers. I'm not going to use any badge or name that could get me into trouble with Porsche, though....

Fooled around with the lettering, numbering. Interesting that the number 1 isn't the number character but is the letter "i" in lower case.
I'll also try changing the size of the lettering to about half it's size as shown to make it a little more subtle. May also try different colors in the lettering (this one is black) depending on the wood color. The fellow who does the engraving is a very talented sign maker, so we'll put our heads together to see where we can take it.

The amount of work that's put into building the box and the cost of materials, that price is cheap. That includes the engraving and finishing. It all takes time. The actual run is fast but the set up takes 3 times as long. Its a good buy guys.

I have a 1/14" shaper that has been fired up one time in the past four to five years. I stop taking those jobs. It was used to make some custom entry doors. My door fab guy was booked solid, so I had to do it myself. When I grow up, I will get back into real woodworking like you.

nice looking box ,
I would suggest to remove key pictures,
as its quite possible to make duplicates from your pictures.
thus someone that you might not/ might know could be taking your machine for a test drive
EDIT photo shop can be used to change or obscure the key blade
