I get up at 5:30, shower, grind my coffee beans, THEN feed the little monsters. I figured the sound of the coffee grinder would act like a Pavlov thing. It worked, no more 4:00AM wake up... as a plus he comes in a 5:30 if the electronic alarm fails.

Jack is my neighbour's cat. He decided this is the day he's hanging out with me. He jumped on me dug his claws in my shoulder then jumped by my front window. He stared in my house for 30 minutes. He'd jump in my lap then back up to look in my house. WTH was he looking at? Please don't tell me he sees dead people.
Oh by the way I'm allergic to cats. My eyes are still itchy.

dafischer 08-26-2016 06:41 PM

They always know who doesn't like cats, or is allergic to them, and home in on those people.

RLMAO!

Marshal is one cool looking kitty btw

We can so relate to your scenario. Although, we are soooo trained.

We also ask ourselves, "What the heck happened, we "USED" to be cool". I think the only it could get worse is if we owned a minivan with a soccer ball sticker on the back window....

(Side note: before I get pummeled be all the minivan owners on the forum, I know they have their place. Heck, I even rented one the last time we went to Maui for my aging parents. I just have no desire to own one.....lol)

Annie is 17 pushing 18 and weighs 4.9 lbs. she is on thyroid meds so I feed her whenever she is hungery, it's all good. Onyx who is the black one is our ferrel rescue who came inside the winter of 09 when we got blindsided by a freaky snow storm that dumped 22" at our place and knocked power out for 5 days. She likes to sleep on my head by hogging up the pillow. She lets us know she is hungry by firing off with this horrible yowl like someone is hacking off her tail. Then after she eats, she immediately poops then tears around the house howling like a banchie. They seriously make me laugh.

They are family.

Cheers

Sorry to hear about your loss it's never easy. Torti looks like she had personality. At least "other" Torti only sent a garbled email. I was logged onto my Credit Union bill pay option, stepped out for just 5 seconds and when I came back in, Onyx was on the keyboard doing the " I'm a cute kitty" roll. I was freaked out for a week thinking that funds were sent to some anonymous account..[emoji51]

Big orange cats are cool. Morgan(RIP) who came to us many years ago on a "temporary" stay between homes, well, never left our place and had a forever home until he passed.

He was the bomb. The first two nights he stayed in the bathroom to get acclimated to the new smells and sounds meowed so badly that I had to take a blanket and pillow and crash on the floor with him. Needles to say, he opted to keep a couple of my fingers in his mouth like a dog would, but it kept him quiet. After two nights of that, he never left my side. He would torment Annie by grasping her in a bear hug like grasp and then just roll back and fourth side to side while she went crazy. He never bit her, just rolled. He must of known it drove her bat-sh@$-crazy.

A coworker has two orange brother/sister orange cats (Mabel & GXR) who do the same as your helpers. They will sleep on each other. Not sure what it is about big orange cats.

That's awesome Bill,

Great job on rescuing those two. We visit our local shelter to drop off things they can use. It's our way of helping out a little.

Yeah, that guy is freaking huge. Hard to imagine that he was so small, literally could cup him in one hand.

The day I rescued him, he went full Tasmanian devil and one of his teeth punctured right through my leather glove and into my finger. I'll try to paint this funny looking picture, but I imagine it looked rather funny to the drivers as they whizzed by at 80 mph catching but the briefest of glances of some guy, standing in the center divider median holding a black kitten by the scruff of the neck with my thumb and index finger in a pinching fashion; a black micro fuzzball going all crazy while looking at my other hand, specifically my right index finger with a look on my face depicting my thought process of...." Seiously, you have got to be f - ing kidding me!"

Had to notify my supervisor then go to Mercy San Juan Hospital to get checked for an animal bite. I honestly wished I had kept all of the kitten pictures by co-workers put at my desk with big fangs drawn on them after that, along with the made up stories of how I was attacked by a monster freeway mountain lion.

The rest is now history and he weighs more than a six year old child from the looks of the picture.

Cheers

My wife volunteers at the Humane Society a couple of days a week. She assists in the surgery department (it's a teaching hospital) and also takes photos of cats up for adoption. The kittens go in minutes, so she focuses on the adult cats who need a little more help getting adopted. The "glamour shots" are used on their website to attract people to come in for a meet and greet.
