HELP my computer is stuck in shut down mode
Toshiba Satellite laptop has been a great laptop for me. Had Windows 7 and downloaded Windows 10 about a month ago. It has been running fine since 10 was loaded. Two days ago I turned the computer off and noticed it wasn't turning off. It was attempting to turn off and it said it was turning off and the annoying 4-5 circles were spinning clockwise but it won't turn off. I tried control alt delete nothing. Tried all the F keys nothing. I held down the on/off button and it shut off. Waited a while and hit the power button and the screen stated " turning off " . Any tricks to get past this stuck turning off ?
I had to pull out my old trusty Dell Lattitude running XP to type this message .

Make sure you have everything you need to keep backed up (in case there is an issue with restarting)
Press Cntrl/Alt/Del (all three keys at the same time) Make sure the computer isn't trying to update Win software End all programs running Attempt to shut down

That works with desktops but I didn't know if he could unplug the battery with a laptop.

Unplug. Wait a day or so for the battery to die. Plug in. Let battery charge for an hour or so. Press power button. Cross fingers. ![]()

All laptops have removable batteries.
How easy it is to remove is the question. google the make and model for power manager reset.
