Got accepted into a really big show

There is a group called NSS, National Sculpture Society based on the East Coast, they are having a sculpture show in San Diego for 2017 and I entered it. First big thing I have tried, mostly small stuff around here. I got my acceptance letter the other day. It will start with a reception January 7 in The Sparks Gallery located on Sixth St in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. I haven't been there but it looks like a big spot. The biggest thing to happen to me in my sculpture life. It will run for about two months. This is the Polar Bear I entered, about 80 lbs of Italian Marble.

Your acceptance is well deserved Dean. You have leapt to a high levels in your sculpting and folks will enjoy your piece.

Hope you don't mind a hijack. Last week we did a show of my moms work, at the care home where she is staying now. She got started in sculpting in her mid sixties and immediately started producing good pieces right away. Kind of blew our minds at the time to see her work. The show at the care home was a resounding success. The residents were so interested and antimated by the seeing the pieces. I only have some snaps I took at the show and while preparing. ![]() ![]() ![]()
