And people wonder where regulation comes from?

It comes from being asshats:

Some people think: that's a bad idea and I won't do that.
Other people think: that's a bad idea and it's my job to make sure no one ever does that!!!!!

Regulation (the opposite of personal freedom) comes from arrogant asshats who think they know better and it's up to them to tell everyone else what to do.

It's just soot. No different than what goes up the chimney from burning a log.

If the arrogant asshats had minded their own biddness and not stuck their noses into everyone else's biddness, maybe these truck owners would not feel the need to fight back.

That article was misleading. Truck pullers don't turn up the injectors to make a political statement, they are trying to win a competition. They are totally different from the kids who do it just to get attention and annoy people.

For people genuinely seeking power, is running a diesel that rich an advantage?

Regulations are good when things suck....ie when the Cuyahoga River caught fire back in Ohio in '69...so we got the Clean Water Act and the EPA.

They did good work. Then they got bit in the ass by the asymptotic curve of good intentions. Once they began running out of rivers catching fire, they had to find something else, and as the big problems dried up, they turned into the minutiae-minded peckerheads they are today.

Sorry....sore subject, kinda like the Department of Energy

I guess over fueling does produce more power short term. Some truck pullers start out with a fairly clean exhaust and turn the fuel up near the end when they need the power.

the nut con's who hate regulation of all most anything
got in power under raygun were those pickerheads
and instead of fighting BIG corpRATS polution
as they fight back
decided to deliberately shift to attack mom and pop's small biz
with vengeance of over regulation the most minor things
just to show their fears were remotely possible
in a self-fulling proof of the dogma

In this case the peckerheads are the kids who think blowing black smoke on unsuspecting people is fun.

I must admit I didn't view the video...kneejerk reaction to "regulations". Having now seen it, it's just another sad commentary on the fukcwads we have to share air with.

Soot is a carcinogen. I don't think people have the right to endanger other peoples' health just because they're too stupid than to know it's wrong and unacceptable to endanger someone else because they want to act like the screeching primates they're about four generations descended from.

If people weren't selfish a-holes we probably wouldn't need laws - certainly a lot fewer of them. Unfortunately they are all too often.

Many regulations come from big business through lobbyists and are designed to create barriers to entry for competitive, innovative entrepreneurs with shallower pockets.

rollin' coal = asshats

caveat - if they did actually decide to roll coal on the Westboro Baptist Church people or the BLM people that vandalize, loot and block the freeway. Then I think it's totally cool.
