Molecular Machines Nobel Prize Awarded!

In case you peeps missed it ..the Prize in Chemistry went to the discovery of ways to build machines out of atomic and small molecule sized building blocks. These include molecular motors comprised of two intertwined molecules, and "cars" which can move directionally down an inclined slab comprised of a single layer of atoms. This type of miniaturization will fuel many of the gadgets to come, including implantable pumps, implantable detection devices for bodily functions , and brain probes which can be fired /monitored externally, just to name a few...... prepare yourselves.. frank

I have a nephew that graduated SDSU 6 or 7 years ago. He was a Chemical Engineering major.

Got a full ride for post-grad work at UCSB.

Nanotechnologies.

End of second year, got an interview at DARPA.

Hasn't surfaced yet, but is doing well.
