Blatant Littering! What Pig Does This?!?

Driving on a busy city street, checked my rear-view to change lanes, and saw a woman driving in a totally beat 1990s Honda Accord, roll down her window and drop what looked like a McDonald’s bag!!! W-T-F?! Wrappers and cups just spilled out everywhere and another driver swerved!! Again, W-T-F! Who does this? I’m not sure I have ever witnessed this before! Yeah, I’ve seen people throw gum and cig. butts, and empty their coffee cups, but never just purposely throw a bag of trash with other drivers around them! It actually made me sort of sick to see.

I wonder if I had captured it on video with her plate, if I could have gotten authorities to pay her a visit?

Whenever I walk or ride my bike, I usually stop to pick up liter, now I have a different perspective! Thanks pig!!!!

Not only littering but McDonalds. She should be eating an apple or a banana instead of that poison. If she tossed out the core or peel then it wouldn't be as bad. Problems diminish when the right things are done ...

I too do not understand this mentality. They can't wait until they get home to clean out their car?

Trash pickup, particularly beach clean up has been a lifelong persuit for me.
It is galling to see folks be thoughtless pigs.

I keep hoping that seeing others doing clean up will turn on the light for them.
Quietly planting seeds in others minds. 😆

I was out mowing my ditches on my (not a small tractor) John Deere 955, with headlight/taillights blazing, and the 4 way flashers making my presence obvious. A crappy old minivan, with a crappy old, fat woman threw a beer can about 100 ft in front of me. I threw up my hands and screamed at her as she drove by (hoping she would stop). As I made my next pass in the ditch, I saw another beer can laying on the freshly cut grass.

I have never so much as thrown a gum wrapper out of the car, and tend to be obssesive about keeping the interior clean. It also burns my azz when people flick their still lit cig out the window in front of you, like the world is thier ashtray........ these people live in sqauler, just don't make me do so.

Trash is one of my pet peeves. I hate picking up after humans. Tree leaves are one thing, but human trash another all together.
Many years ago they built some new houses in an area of right of way for some power lines that run behind the houses across the street from ours. People moved in and traffic on our street picked up because they put speed bumps in the private street that the new houses were on.
One day I see a truck come down the street, headed into the track. I recognize is as one of the new residents. As they drive by they toss out some trash, obviously thinking no one is watching them. They don't park in their garage at night. So, I type up a nice note saying I hope they have as much fun cleaning up their windshield as I did picking up their trash, along with welcoming them to the neighborhood. I was leaving for work at o'dark thirty in the mornings back then so I plaster the note to their windshield with vaseline as the adherent the next day.
Now when they drive down our street they have their windows rolled up.

Not making light of the issue here, but India is another universe. Sights like this are common.

...and then they pile it up and burn it, because no one is coming to get it for weeks.

Used to see it in the 80s a lot in New York State. Eat while driving, toss everything back in bag when done, toss bag out of window onto road

10 years ago a kid flicked a cheeseburger out the window that hit me in the face while on my motorcycle at highway speed. Reminded me of napolean dynamite when uncle Rico throws Kip's steak at Napolean's face while on his bike

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Fmh5e-9bn8w

Another time on my motorcycle riding through Brooklyn, a kid tossed an entire slurpy out the window which hit my handle bars and sprayed all over my face and body. Nice.

Yup, there are plenty of folks out there that do not give a crap.

I was behind a pick-up truck once and the driver opened up the back window and tossed his fast food bag and wrappers onto the highway while stopped in of rush hour traffic. Person next to him honked to get his attention and he replied with the one finger salute

NC DOT has a link to report littering.

I was always struck by the huge amount of trash on my trips to India. I would often spend much of a day carrying around my trash because there was never a bin to put it in, until one day at a train station in Goa I saw a bunch of nuns waiting on the platform and a couple of them finished eating something and threw the trash on the ground. I gave up, figuring if the nuns are doing it, so will I.

Probably the one clean place that really stood out was the Lalbagh gardens in Bangalore.

Littering is also a pet peeve of mine... I live a block form an ocean side park... Monday morning walk not uncommon to see piles of trash on the lawn a few feet from a garbage can.

There is a car club that has BBQ's in the park on Sundays (lowriders), it was refreshing to see at the end of the BBQ they had bagged up all their trash.

Long time ago I gave a waitress from my local pub a ride home, she looked at the floor behind the passenger seat littered with gum wrappers and assorted trash and said "Ewww... well, at least you are not a litterer."

I see it all the time at work (construction). Guys get out of their truck and they just drop it on the ground. Pisses me off as there is a 30 yard dumpster on every lot.

I tell them to pick it up and if they don't, I have it cleaned up and back charge them.

Thing have gotten better with litter across the last 50 years.

About once every other year I still see a whole fast food meal trash go out someone's window. I don't get it. Car is always a beater. Who cares if it's on the floor?

Since you're in Raleigh, you might be able to relate, but this was on Falls of Neuse Rd., just past Millbrook, during morning traffic! I was actually in shock!
