I was in Melbourne this week house hunting with the wife. We we originally scheduled to leave today but we were able to get a flight back a day early. I am very thankful we were able to do that.

here in NW Alachua Co. we just lost power for 5 minutes... but that happens to us on a clear sunny day for no apparent reason. No real sustained wind but kinda gusty and changing direction, just a steady drizzle of rain.

I'll have to show that one to the GF. When we drove inside the tri-oval for the first time for a ChumpCar race, her eyes got real big and she said "You're going to drive on THAT!!!??" :)

That is the effect of having 24/ news. There needs to be news, there needs to be a desire to watch that news, what better than getting some drama going? After all "if it bleeds it leads" has been a known "fact" for long time.... The 24/7 news and the multitude of providers/collators/distributers make them clamor for their fractional slice of the pie.

My daughter lives in Kissimmee and said the exact same thing when I called her this morning :rolleyes: Yesterday morning her and her friends were seriously considering leaving town due to the non-stop barrage of 'you're going to die' from the media.

Parts of St. Augustine are under water I guess. What a shame. Such a beautiful town.
