My parents had a lakefront property surrounded by a 100yr lease family farm and University woods. All natural and quiet.
A developer almost bought the strip of woods behind it to build condos.
Mom helped organize the association owners to buy it out from under him and keep it woods.
That move probably quadrupled prop values or more.
It's all McMansionville now(blech).
